Default Cricket Ireland announce Oman loss rehabilitation centre

Just opened. Accepting bookings from concerned Dutch or Bangladeshi citizens.

Going by the popularity of cricket in Ireland I will say u will be lucky to have 2 bookings altogether.
I know it hurts when a South African lose you a match. So when you planning to play a full Irish team?
If you have the guts and of course total of 11 players in whole Ireland.
What a waste of time and money

Wait, Oman beat Ireland?

I'm shocked. But this is good for world cricket.

I expected us to lose, better to take loss with a smile than cry over it.

Anyway the rehabilitation centre is quite nice I must say, making excellent use of the bar.

Can we get certain newly troll who has joined here his name has two k's-- admitted to your centre, for a rehab? He lives in Ireland from what I gather. It will do him world of good. If there's a chance to get him admitted. So that he can learn how to be less arrogant, more humble and adopt some humility.

Netherlands- Some of their players might come from South Africa and Australia, but they are also Dutch nationals. So they have every rights to represent Netherlands.

But Ireland and Scotland- Yes, they are full of local talents. Even the South Asian guy is a British national living in Scotland with a Scottish accent- so he also has every rights to represent Scotland.

Same for Afghanistan. And when they come to play at a major event, they always attract a fanbase to come to the stadium.

Most other associate nation are just full of South Asian expats, and not even 1% of the remainder of the population of those nations know jack about cricket.

How many fans came to cheer for UAE in CWC 15 in Australia? How many fans came to cheer for UAE in Asia Cup 16 in Bangladesh? Hint: total number is less than 1. Same goes for Oman.

ICC should make a new rule- only citizens of a country can represent that country. This would get rid of all these Omanis and other Middle Eastern teams.

Donnie, do you need any consultants for the rehab center?

We Bangladeshis had a great center so we know the pain and heartache

Residents of Dharmasala were supporting different teams, as I think that I had seen a few Dharmasala residents waving the Dutch flag cheering for Netherlands on the game against us. Clearly not Bangladesh's biggest fans...

And the elderly Omanis celebrating the win were just board members and coaches, they too were South Asian expats in Oman.

Good gutsy performance by Oman, has to be said. They took their chances and snatched it from a clearly shocked Irish team.

I don't have a problem with expats representing another country,if they are on the road to becoming a citizen or permanent resident. But all the middle eastern countries do not do that, that is the problem. They just keep renewing your visa from what I've been told.

But back to the first point, if someone has been living in a country for generations, I don't see why they should not able allowed to play for the national team. I don't know what the Oman or UAE' team's situation is. But I am guessing they are mostly 1st generation immigrants.

tough loss Donal. Love your enthusiasm for the game we all love. All fans love underdogs - and Ireland has been a very popular one for almost a decade now. I hope they get more international games outside of this lottery of a qualifier round. T20s even out the chances for a lot of weak teams and a bit of bad luck can lead to upsets often.

True. Just look at Bangladesh - at the receiving end of two upsets in the Asia Cup.

Yes I made enquiries about the whereabouts of the architects of the original centre, however out of respect I decided I'd wait until absolutely certain that a Bangladesh branch of the Oman centre wont be required in the near future.

Assuming one isnt required I can employ them full time and make several exciting new announcements regarding our facilities. Of course should a Bangladesh one be necessary we may only need to extend the current complex, as opposed to constructing an entirely new one.
