You did not fight to own the language you fought to speak it with freedom and restore its dignity. You did not fight alone BTW, there are millions of Indians still bearing the brunt of the war, don't disrespect their sacrifices and contributions by saying you own the Bengali language.

My belief is that this idea of "bengali connection" between Bangladesh and West B gets overplayed quite a bit. West Bengalis are Indian first, and Bengali second. Some will see us with contempt, and some will see us as Bengali brothers.

A bigger concern for me is why we get so riled up over what Indians think of us. I swear Bangladeshis act like a bunch of losers bounded in an abusive relationship, getting kicked and spit on by Indians and still coming back for more. Trust me, no one is looking at India as the gold standard for anything. Their approval/disapproval should have no effect on your lives. So stop with the inferiority complex.
Completely agree with the statement, so a little bewildered as to why it was directed at me (if it wasn't, my mistake). I was merely making an observation that I found to be amusing.

Sorry bro, only the first part was response to you, as to why an Indian Bengali would be proud when Bdeshis do something good.

Mash is on the brink of surpassing Bashar's record of leading in 29 ODI wins.

Wins under him so far:

Zim - 9 wins
Afg - 3
Eng - 3
NZ - 3
Ind - 2
Ire - 2
Pak - 2
SA - 2
SL - 2
Sco - 1

It will be also a record for us to win 10 matches against Zim in a streak since 2014, if we win today.

There he gets it. Mashrafe is now leading with most ODI wins as a captain.

And yet some.people will complain or raise questions about Mashrafi's place in the team after one bad game.

Kintu.... kintu.... where is his batting?

With his current batting form, shouldn't he bat at #11?

Mash used the seam of the new ball beautifully yesterday. It was a vintage Mash on a low-slow Mirpur wicket!

I am amazed how he still picks up wickets. Doesn't he look like a sack of potatoes every time he runs in to bowl? Good Lord.

I mean I am happy for him. But I also have to describe what I see.

I wonder if you're losing your eye sight or your sanity. Either way, I am sorry for you.

Mash is actually in very good shape at the moment. Your obvious bias makes it impossible to take you seriously.

Roey said it very rudely but he does make a point.

I get really nervous thinking about 2019 and whether Mash can hold on till then. We literally have no one else and that's scary.

We all know Mash is just another major injury away from end of his career. But as far as his look goes, he looks super fit. He has put in incredible amount of physical work, and been through some serious mental agony, to be in the shape he is now.

Any derogatory comment about his look is only show of one's own poor taste and idiocy.

You don't have to tell me man. It just feels like we'll be on pins and needles till 2019. Literally every delivery is a potential for disaster.

It is mentally agonizing to see him run up.A panting mess held together by tape, quite literally( KT tape and all that). Don't feel sorry for me, use the time to entertain other takes.

Someone had to say it... mash cadar e jog korar porei khela dhula chere diyeche... shontran bhaab chilo age...akhon leaner meaner ..but he is not a x factor... if everytime he brought his A- game up;

Look he is a great BANGLADESHI bowler but that's about it. In terms of sheer pace he'd get drilled by plethora of world class bowlers top to bottom nil to present.

He would always be a question mark. A what if. He is a brave and amazing captain and takes wicket at crucial times but he ain't exactly in the ilk of Malinga, Ambrose, Vaas et others in their league whose sheer name made you shudder.

Heck come to think of it I don't even think we have someone who can single handedly take the game away from opposition. Shakib an obvious. But he is more of a Vettori type. You see him off his spell.

Tamim no wear near possesses the Warnesque, Sehwagesque, Watsonesque, or even Kohli if we take into right handes Afridiesque, Matthewsque vibes to take the game away from opponent.

Only person who has that potentital is actually Fizz.....

Edit: Mohammad Ashraful kinda did. Hence the cult.

I just want to say looking at his Hawj instagram posts disgusts me. Suffering home series defeat, and scurrying off to do pilgrimage to ask for salvation.

Well I got news for you sir, God doesn't like losers. That is not to say you are a bad person, because on the contrary, you are the lionheart. But no amount of rock circling and stone kissing will give you any blessing that you speak off in your interviews. That will depend on your skills and attitude. I hope it crossed your mind once or twice, that in the absence of a coach, should you as the captain take the fall for the humiliating series loss to SL. You and your team have let us down.

Be very introspective, and ask yourself how you will make up for it. Or else, you are another one of these politicians, wheelin and dealin, just to stay in the team.
