Default future bangladesh team

i think at present there is a very good young nucleas in the team. JO can be replaced by iqbal, pilot by mushfiq, rafiq by enamul and bashar by rajin. then we will have a completely young team.

i think enamul is better than rafiq in tests but in one dayers rafiq is irrelacable. even though i dislike bashar captaincy i think he is still best bd batsman in tests. even an inform rajin is not as capable as him. Bd should look another 1-2 young batsmen. But the real vaccum seems to be in pace dept. Even though there are a lot coming up but they are short in quality. Maybe BCB needs to do these pacer hunt initiatives more often. Then the selected ones should be groomed properly.

I think Suhrawadi Suvro from BD U/19 will also come into consideration as an SLA.

Here is what McInnes said-
Quote:
If I rub the crystal ball and guess what our national squad may be in 5 years (2010): Nafees Iqbal, Nafees Ahmed, Ashraful, Aftab, Rajin, Shamsur Rahman, Saqib Al Hasan, Marshall Ayub, Alok, Mushfiqur Rahim, Enamul Haque Jnr, Masharafe, Talha, Rajib, Shafaq Al Jabar, Dollar Mahmud, Nazmul Hossain, Sorwardy Shuvo and Ashim Chowdhury. It will be interesting to look back in 5 years and see how many are still there.

very hard to predict............

Everybody is now crazy about Mushfiqur Rahim........but u never know......2 years back Anwar Hossain, a wicket-keeper batsman also played 1 test like mushfiq did and everybody said he is coming up.......but now he is lost.........

In the case of mushfiq it can also be opposite.......so cant predict the future.

4/5 years is a long time........may be we can find a GILCHRIST is our team

True 4/5 years is a long time and future is very much unpredictable. But if I have to bet, I would rather bet in favor of Mushfiqur than against him (fading away). Besides those technical aspect... he has someting that very few players had shown during their tender age. And that is the mental aspect. His maturity and calmness was far beyond his age.

Does that means he is a sure shot. No. But it tells that if/when he can get a chance to play to the national team (again) with his technical skills, he has more chance to succeed due to his superior mental maturity.

Why are you taking Nadif ahead of Enamul in your team?? they are of same age and Nadif is not yet knocking the A team and as far as i know he has a suspect bowling action............... Do you have any particular reason behind this?

Me too.....Kapali is a wonderful player when he is in form....

I would love to see Ashraful, Aftab and Kapali as our batting backbone in future and hope they carry on the responsibility for many years to come.............like Nannu, bulbul, Akram was for the Bangladesh team previously

I think the fight for national SLA spots will be among Enamul, Suvro, and Sakib.

Even though players like Razzak, Arafath Sunny, and Nadif will always get lots of success in domestic league, I don't think they will get too many international chances.

I think we'd be better off thinking about the team for WC 2007. In two years time we may be able to field a competitive squad.

Already the youngsters in the current team has a better grip of the one day games than some astute veterans. Some older memebrs are either declining in terms of their ability with age or simply are unable to discard the old losing mentality. Age related declines : rafiq and chacha. Javed and Bashar on the other hand, are unable to cope with different scenarios, though they are more experienced veterans. Javed is playing 70's version of 60 over one day matches that will make Gavaskar proud and Bashar is having a misearble time in no.5, not knowing what do since he can't cut or pull for boundaries. He is as bad as Javed in finding the gaps for singles and twos. I think Bashar needs to go back to no.3. We will get the maximum out of him there. Tushar falls to 5 with Ash and Aftab staying in their respective 4 and 5.

its hard to tell because most of us haven't seen many of these young players performance. another thing is, it seems bd young players progress upto a level then there is a significant decline. if you look at our u19 team, they are as good as anyone but then they struggle in the highest level.
in the highest level if we can not improve continously, we will always struggle.

Guys, can we get some info about the below mentioned players who are our future stars...

1)Nadif Chy
2)Shamsur Rahman
3)Marshal Ayub
4)Abul Bashar
5)Saqib Al Hasan
6)Shafaq Al Jabar,
7)Dollar Mahmud,
8) Sorwardy Shuvo
9)Ashim Chowdhury

Could ny tell bout them...how many are all rounders....how many can be regarded as our future sloggers as we badly need after Rafique retires....and etc etc etc bout them...

I think we can expect to Shamsur to be a good middle order batsmen for BD cricket team of 2010...atleast...

Mr. Richard Macinness highly rates him among all....

i'm not gonna go too far ahead. here's my prediction for our team in the WC 2007 -

1. Rajin Saleh/Nafis Iqbal
2. Shahriar Nafis
3. Habibul Bashar
4. Md. Ashraful
5. Aftab Ahmed
6. Alok Kapali/Tushar Imran
7. Khaled Masud
8. Md. Rafiq
9. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza
10. Nazmul Hossain/Sk Russel/Shafaq Al Zabir
11. Shahadat Hossain

the number 8 position is the dodgiest. dont know how effective rafiq will be in west indies. he'll also be 2 years older by then.

and the middle order seems the strongest point of this team.

Mr. Richard Macinness highly rates him among all....
Nadif: Very much like Rafiique/Razzak. Does not depend on spin too much, once a while even bowls at medium pace. Last year, when u/19 toured England, where Enamul got only 3-4 wickets, he had 13, the most successful bowler of the tour.

I don't think there is anything wrong with his bowling action as he worked under McInnes (who is a specialist on this issue) for few years. But I also heard that he likes to throw the ball once a while in the domestic league.

Also an useful lower order batsman. But I think he will loose the battle against Sakib who is also an SLA and a batsman.

Shamsur Rahman: I don't think I have to say much about this guy. Expecting to see him in the team during home serieses against SL and Aus, most probably in the ODI side in place of Tushar.

Marshal Ayub: He is a middle order batsman in the current U/19 team. He also bowls leg spin. That is all I know about him.

Abul Bashar: Two-three years ago, he was considered a bright young prospect just like Shamsu or Rahim is considered now. Have not heard about him recently.

Saqib Al Hasan: His coaches in BKSP say this 16-year-lad drinks, sleeps, and eats cricket. Rabeed Imam called him the brightest upcoming star for the national team. A very mature player considering his age. An SLA and an useful left hand bat (which gives him another edge over right-hand bat Nadif). Rana will probably loose to him in couple of years.

Shafaq Al Jabar: Six feet plus tall left arm medium pacer. Too young and immature at this stage. Sayed Rasel will probably make the team before him.

Dollar Mahmud: Fast enough to break Chacha's thumb in a NCL match. Still too young.

Sorwardy Shuvo: He is an SLA, got 19 wickets in 3 matches in the last NCL. Did pretty well in u/19's tour of Australia. Hopefuly, he will be a key player for our team in Youth WC'06 in Sri Lanka.

Ashim Chowdhury: He was a member of our u/19 that toured England last year. I believe he is a leggie.

I hope they are better than players who will retire soon. I hope Saqib will help our 1 day team with his all round skills.

Ditto.

On second thought, Underder the new rules of 20 overs fielding restriction - first 10 overs and two blocks of 5 over later, Bashar may be able to play his 'natural' game at 5. He should remain at 3 in test matches but in ODIs he didnt do much at 3 where his average is in mid teens.

In that case Aftab should come at 3 where his average is in mid 40s.
