Default Aussies has a good example for us: how they made 261

Todays Aussi FoW: 1-34 (Gilchrist, 5.2 ov), 2-46 (Hayden, 9.1 ov), 3-95 (Ponting, 21.1 ov), 4-123 (Martyn, 27.5 ov), 5-224 (Symonds, 42.5 ov), 6-234 (Clarke, 44.3 ov), 7-236 (Hussey, 45.1 ov), 8-242 (Hogg, 46.6 ov), 9-254 (Gillespie, 48.5 ov). and 261, a challenging score at 50 overs- example of steady progress.

Our last match; FoW: 1-22 (Shahriar Nafees, 5.2 ov), 2-92 (Tushar Imran, 21.2 ov), 3-92 (Mohammad Ashraful, 21.3 ov), 4-112 (Habibul Bashar, 29.2 ov),: most injury was done here 5-138 (Aftab Ahmed, 37.2 ov), 6-183 (Javed Omar, 45.6 ov), 7-189 (Mashrafe Mortaza, 47.3 ov). - team reached only 208, making it easy for England to chase.

When Ash went with Golden Duck in hand, Basher could play sensibly. He was run out and again did the worst for the team.

Basher should find himself what went wrong with him as a captain and tell the management if he can carry on.

Difference between Aus vs. BD batting in these matches = Difference between Symonds and Golla.

BTW, Golla was responsible for Bashar's run-out.

Bashar responded to a call for single from JO. They needed to take some singles desperately and he got out in trying that.
Bashar might not be as good of captain as Ponting, Dada, Smith, etc. but he is the best we have got. Unless we have someone better it is useless to cry about it this often. Unless, anybody can come up with a replacement of Bashar (in theory and analysis) this kind of thread/posts can only increase the number of post per member.

I like Basher to play as a run machine and mind only his batting not for the whole team. He did not come up with any single incident where his captaincy contributed. Field placing is one of the areas he have no good concept about but a captain should. (Struss of England made almost 50 taking shots in same vacant area on leg side and he never seemed concerned! Tapash Baisya should have been taken off after two ot three very expensive overs. Bash still let him bowl and in his 7 overs England made 87!) He performs poorer becasue of pressure. His body language never inspires even an expectator, leave out the team mates. I have no clue who can take over. Mashrafee is very young but he is aggressive, that also costs. Rajin could not perform well in UK and he has some quality. He is very devoted player. Please comment.

We've done well, The team has been in positions to get highscores

150/2 -----> 223a/o
113/2 -----> 139a/o

of course we've taken a

90/3 ------> 250/5

Some of our low scores could of been scores of 275+ we just played a liitle bit reckless if Pilot or someone else @ the bottom had stepped up and scored some runs we could of put up some scores to make England and Australia sweat just a little bit.

We like to make mistakes again and again,,,, how come its possible we lost last 8 wickets within 30 runs, i can't believe it.... Actually this is not a quality problem, this is in our mind,,,, we should change our mentality....

Bashar should NOT be dropped for interests of team harmony/unity. The only time a new captain should be discussed/contemplated is when he retires. There are a few candidates out there. Even young young Mushfiqur Rahim is being slated as captain material (hard working, responsible, good cricket brain).

Just think of Tubby Taylor - when he was preforming poorly, he was never dropped/replaced even amidst huge publicity here in Oz, and pretty much everyone wanting him dropped. Look at Oz, they are a tough team that can bounce back from mini-disasters (liek losing to BD)...

I'm sure Dav is thinking like this; great minds think alike
