Lightbulb ^^Test Rankings Thread^^

This current standing, SL and Australia so close. Pakistan was the number 1 team not so long ago.
Windies are on the up, Zimbabwe just got their first points after the 2nd test ended in a draw.

Zimbabwe plays South Africa next in the day-night 4-day test
Windies will be heading to Australia for camp before crossing the Tasman sea to New Zealand for a Test series. And we have the Ashes coming up also...

PosTeamMatchesPointsRating
1India364,493125
2South Africa343,767111
3England434,497105
4New Zealand323,11497
5Australia343,29497
6Sri Lanka393,65894
7Pakistan342,98888

We gotta win or at least draw the series against SA next year, I do think we have a really amazing test team but they are yet to prove themselves overseas.

Wow...... Look at the point difference between India and south africa. No doubt that India is playing some different level of cricket at the moment. They r easily the best team of this generation and just one away series win from being declared as one of the greatest test team of all time.

Congratulations to all the indian fans of this forum.

Zimbabwe really did well. WI couldn't bat in 2nd innings. That is an achievement in itself.

India's rating points will go even higher. They are hosting their favourite opponent Srilanka for 3 tests soon. After all, that's how India is no1 in test ranking atm. They played massive amount of test cricket at home in last couple of years.

We are going to play a massive amount of tests overseas next year against some very formidable opponents, big home season followed by a big one away, that's what we do. Being super good at home is no mean feat, not many teams could achieve this much invincibility even at home. SA lost to Eng at home, Pak got thumped by SL, WI defeated England. But yes I agree we need to perform in SA, ENG, AUS and NZ to be considered a ATG team. Although it is still better being a home track bully than no bully at all, just my 2 cents.

Do you think this India team is as good as the one around 2008?

I think they are quite a ways from that team which won quite a few Tests away.

Yes I do, look in terms of individual talents our team of 2008 was way better, not even a comparison, but this team is more grittier, clinical and passionate about their approach and has a very decent fast bowling attack which the previous teams never had. Dare I say this team looks more balanced and motivated to me.

I will wait and see how Kohli and Co perform in SA, Eng and Aus next year but at this moment I do think they have the potential and firepower to surpass what was achieved during 2008.

You will break Eclipse's heart. He already declared the team to be one away series win away from being GOAT in the history of cricket

We are supposed to play both home and away series against Windies next year. Hope that will settle who is the superior team at this point.

It's gonna be exciting because there will be much to gain from the competition. I don't mind that. There's honor here. Bragging rights. My Windies.

But, both of our teams should try to beat those bigger teams...what the hell is Sri Lanka and Pakistan doing so high. Teamwork works in this situation. Double team.

^^ Pak running scared, canceled the tour last summer. For SL, Hathu switched side to his home team at the nick of the time and planning to pull one over us

^^ I don't know what to say man,.... SL keeps on playing Ind, and always gets thrashed. SL-Pak have been competitive of late.

I still think that they are a little bit a level over BD. But last time that the two teams played, BD registered their maiden win against them...

So Pakistan is one of the teams that BD has to register a win against. If they meet in the near future, then at least there is chance of winning against them.
