Default BD Players spread lies to Media?

"He didn't mention the media in the past but he used to say why do the players say such things in the media? I sat with him and the players a number of times, asking them why they lie in the media."

I feel so sad for Hathura.

Or maybe what the players say is true and Hathu didnt like that.

Might explain why Shakib sat out of the tour, Mushy made weird comments and decisions, and unfit Mosaddek was picked for the Aussie series, half fit Tamim was picked, dropped, and picked again in SA.

This might actually hold some truth to it. Speaking of those weird comments mushy made, surely the coach also had a say in it.

If Papon wants to stop unnecessary blabbering to media, he needs to start with himself first. The dumbo needs to realize Hathuru is gone. What's the point now to blame the players in public?!

If he wants the players to follow a better media policy going forward, he needs to talk to BCB media manager and the players, not to keep spilling inside info to the media!!!

Didnt Papon say during SA series that he will bring Haturu back to BD for some questions? Now we are hearing that Haturu handed over his resignation letter in the middle of SA series.

I just dont know what to believe anymore..

Eagerly waiting for Hathuras detailed report to Papon.

It would be good to know who are the demons in the Bangladesh team.

It's a guess game, and if I have to guess one of them must be Mushfiq.

In a power struggle between player(s) and head coach, I will always support the head coach, regardless who he is.

I am just glad he chose to quit. We still have time to prevent a repeat of 2014 now. New coach with fresh energy and ideas will do good.

Then you get the sort of SA result !

You have to work with both - no one is better than the other - cricket is a team game after all.

I respectfully disagree. You may need to work with both, but that's doesn't mean you value both the same.

Between a coach/authoritative figure and players, they cannot be same. You compromise the authoritative figure in the name of "work with both" the team will not function. In a fight between a player and a coach, coach need to have the final say otherise there will be no discipline.

Now the performance of a coach need to be evaluated independently. that's a different story. But in a fight between a reputable coach (who have proved himself in the past) and player, I will always be with the coach....otherwise the team will decay anyway.

btw in this fight between haturu and Rahim (the captain), in my mind haturu have some credibility and whiny Rahim (the captain) has none.

Why portraying some one as a liar without any proof?

Well, valid points there...and agree to go with coach, than again, coach has to be honest and a neutral one as well and it should reflects in every aspects of the game ... from squad selection to playing position - everything IMHO.

I am a Haturu "fanboy" from the beginning...but I think he has failed to show his devotion towards the team - he enjoys too much "vacation" where as he should have been with team to help them grow more... I can go on and on...

BCB should let him go now as he has lost his motivation IMHO.

And when Haturu becomes a "Mushy", any one should see there is something wrong out there...

When a team dysfunction like they did in SA, you just cannot change the coach and hope everything will work out fine. Things doesn't work that way in real life.

See the example of NewYork Giants (American Football) as a case study. They had a General manager (responsible for drafting, free-agency, cap management, head coach selection, etc) who is in hot seat for last few years. 2 season ago, they just fired the head coach and brought a 1st time young head coach (promoting internally NY Giant's Khaled Mahmud). then last season they some how managed 11-5. This season the hopes were high. But they start loosing... and high profile key players gave up on the coach and team. Some of them get punished, but so far they are 1-8.

its pretty clear that the head coach will be fired again. But is that enough? All the pandits are saying that's not enough. Along with the coach, the general manager need to be fired. In top of that they are saying that all the trouble makers players who betrayed the team need to be cleaned even it may hit their CAP short term. They need to go 1-2 years rebuild mode with all all new players and the promising players (in the current team) who didn't quit on the team.

When a player quit, he in not only quiting on his coach, but betraying his team mates, owners and fans; and he can no longer be trusted.

Now coming back to our bangladesh Cricket team. I think we need to do the same, we need whole sale change from "process change", to "team selector" change to "head coach" change followed by specialized coach change followed by change in captain and remove some of the trouble maker players even it may coast us some bad result in short term. I think that the only way we can go to then next stage.

Fact and agree.

Though, when a coach lost support of his senior players, it's time to quit with dignity for a coach IMHO.
