Default UAE beats Zimbabwe A 5-0

Pretty strong ZIM A full of capped players went down 5-0 in the UAE last week.

UAE recently lost their ODI status and will be relegated to WCL Division 2.

odd result really...neither surprising but not expected either.

IMO, it was a proper A-team with few fringe players from Zimbabwe national team. Those upcoming Zim players still need more experience playing in Asian conditions.

What it shows is that there is a lot of depth in Associate sides. If UAE are in WCL D2, it means there are several decently strong Associate sides like Scotland, Netherlands, HK, PNG, etc. The world cup should be at least 12 teams and possibly more.

12 teams would merely now cover all Test nations. I think the number should be closer to 16 now.

problem is the current WC has become like the T20 leagues. one group where every team face each other. if they don't change this money hungry format they cant accommodate 16 teams
