bashar deservers to be captain
bashar is without a doubt our best senior player(excluding rafique, who is too old to be captain). he deserves to be captain. pilot got a chance before but he messed it up. i dont know why people are saying he should'nt be the captain.

Nothing quite like a well thought-out, reasonable argument.

It's Grammar
Heh, kidding. I actually make that typo quite a lot too. You see, the E and R keys are side by side. One of my other common typos is "teh"

He deserves to be the captain, no doubt about it..
At this moment, he is the best choice we have.. And he is doing good.
Some people debate that he must be more agrressive. More aggressive with what?? Bowlers like Taposh and Chacha... com on guys.. When we have bowlers like Gillespi, McGrath or Harmison, then we can expect our captain to be aggressive..

I totally agree with "abu_akif". We haven't got any bowler apart from Masrafee to be more aggressive. But, I thing sometime basher is little too defensive, even with Rafiq's bowling. Like yesterday, what's the point of giving free singles. We should have close in some fielders and let them take a chance. And we should play 2 spinners, instead off playing some slow medium loppa bowlers.

Well said.
Everyone who demands Bashar to be kicked out of Captaincy... never really could establish a better substitute ... because there simply isn't any! Bashar really has some flaws...no doubt! But do we really have any alternative at the moement?!
I don't really support extreme criticism against something which we can't really avoid.

In practical view point we dont have any option. Do we? Once we tried with rajin who prove that he can not take the pressure. Actually he can not take the pressure on him let alone the pressure of the team.
Rafiq and Mashud has the problem of communication. They can not speak in English. Somebody might say this quality might not be necessary. But I think its important for us to impress others. You need to express about your team in media.
All the other member are too young to be captain.
So we have to hang on Bashar atleast 2-3years. S. Nafees should be our next captain.

Actually, a good player is not necessarily a great captain.
Bashar had made some serious mistakes when it came to defending a total. It includes field placement, changing of bowlers at crucial time.
Now that we are doing better, we need to be critical of every aspect of the team: from Management, to coaching, to eating habits, to captaincy, to media- I hope you all get my drift.
It is a fact [from all our wins] backed by statistics that we must do better in all three departments [bowling, batting, fielding] on any given day if we are to win that day.
Having said that, I personally think Bashar needs to turn around 180 degrees and should consider reviewing how other captains react to adverse situation on the field or else.

How Bashar messed up the bowling changes so bad in yesterday's game I will never know. But having said that, I have very little confidence that any of our other players would be any better at this job. We could try giving someone like Rafique the duty of being the leader of an International Level team. But then again we could also throw our players to sharks. I say we keep going with what we have right now and as long as there is no political hindrance, we should be able to run over everyone within a couple of years.

Since Imran Khan, Pakistan has failed to produce a good captain.
Good captains are hard to find, and it is only normal that we can't find a good captain either. Bashar may have many faults, but he is definitly the right choice for now. And he is doing far better than others with his limited abilities.

the next choice will be after 1 year I think..and it would go for Shahreer Nafees.
As he is a captain for BD(A) team. So there is 80 % possibilities for him to be the next captain.
NB: if he playes good and manage him a place for an all time opener for BD.

I think Mortoza will be a good captain. He knows what he is doing. He is improving himself by using brain. He is also a good student as he got first division in HSC. To be a good captain, you need brain to judge the situatuin, speciallly player field settings, rotate bowler are very important. I think Mortoza has that.

Next BD captain is Afrab Ahmed, without a doubt assuming he will remain fit for cricket. No other team member has such cool head as he does.

since the mods merged all the bashar bashing threads together, I am assuming that this one is the opposite kind : the official bashar-supporting thread. So I voice my opinion HERE :
Bashar is the best choice to be the BD captain now, and he should stay at the helm until he retires and I have my support behind him, without any complain but one : he cant set the field up properly according to the situation.
Phew...
