Default Your XI for the Test series against SL

My would be:

Tamim
Imrul
Momin
Mushfiq
Shakib
Mosaddek
Nurul
Miraz
Roy
Fizz
Ebadat

Changes from the Colombo Test - Momin and Nurul return, Soumya and Sabbir dropped. Don't see any point in taking Taijul against Lanka. Still early days for Ebadat, but I don't see a whole lot of options but to give him a try atp.

No Liton? He got 70 in his last test which was away from home (South Africa), he's only played 6 tests, FC average close to 50, does he not deserve a few more chances?

Tough xi to pick tbh because I think Liton deserves to retain, but shanto and mosaddek also deserve a run and it would be great to get nurul in there as well.

Liton should be told to force his way back into the team as a top order batsman. His best season in the domestic came when he was free of the keeper gloves. It's not fair to him or to Nurul to select Liton as the Test keeper.

I agree with this, which is why I have both in my XI. Nurul is a better keeper anyways.

Yeah no reason why liton can’t open and nurul can keep and bat lower, don’t see why liton should have to force his way back as a top order bat when that’s where he’s always scored runs domestically to force his way into the team, not his fault they batted him down the order, his accomplishments as an FC opener still stand.

My head scratcher with the batting is whether to take shanto or nurul. Liton may not of had a good BPL with the gloves but he looked good in the tests he kept, he’s definitely good enough to keep at test level. So the question is whether it’s worth getting liton to keep and play shanto or whether we take nurul so he can be a specialist keeper.

That’s assuming mosa is ahead of shanto which I guess he has to be based on the length of careers, mosa’s consistency and also he’s scored runs recently so he is coming back to form.

In saying that I think it’s very important to start integrating shanto into the squad and team, I don’t want his talent lost.

Line up:

1 tamim
2 liton
3 shanto
4 mominul
5 mushy
6 shakib
7 mosa
8 miraz
9 ebadat
10 fizz
11 taijul/jubair/a pacer based on conditions and opposition

Otherwise take shanto out, move the batsmen up one, slot nurul in at 7.

Pretty sure we are picking him because there is no one else who’s any good, he’s shown promise but we haven’t seen him enough thus he hasn’t let us down yet, therefore why not pick him.

TBH from what I’ve seen of him he’s a solid bowler, probably worth a shot over his like jayed, hider in the test format and guys like Roy and rabbi are really stop gal solutions, taskin justvisnt living up to talent unfortunately.

Liton is a marginally better batter than Nurul, if that. Yes 70 odd vs third string SA attack on a dead track. But Nurul hit 47 on a greentop in Christchurch vs Boult, Southee, Wagner.

But most importantly, Nurul is by far the best WK in the country and at 6 feet tall has a reach that Mushy and Liton dont.

But if its at the expense of Mosaddek or Momin, I will rather take Mushy as the WK.

But I like Eshen's squad, although ideally Id like to see Shadman replace Imrul and Taijul in place of Roy.

Nurul is an unlucky player. Underrated. He should be playing for Bangladesh at least in the limited overs format. We can't keep on staying with the same team, so we need to rebuild it by having players like Nurul, Liton, Mosaddek, Mehedi etc. This will be my test XI against Sri Lanka: Tamim, Imrul/Anamul, Mushfiqur, Mominul, Shakib, Mahmudullah, Liton, Mosaddek, Mehedi, Fizz and Ebadat.

^^Tushar was a horrible fielder even in his twenties. He is prolly worse now. That alone is a big no no for me to consider him.

Same goes for Abdur Razzak.

This is my team as well. Imrul brings drinks unless he scores some serious runs in domestic right now. Then Liton can be replaced by Imrul.

Good team. Outside BD we probably need one fast bowling all rounder (Saifuddin, Abul, or Shomya). If Mominul can play as opener, we can replace Liton or Nurul for a fast bowling all rounder.

My XI for the Test series would be:

Tamim
Imrul (If not fit then Litton)
Momin
Mushfiq (wk)
Shakib
Mosaddek
Riyad
Miraz
Taijul (turner pitch) / Roy (Flatbed pitch)
Fizz
Rahi

Note: Mosaddek should not come after #6 as we have no right to destroy his career.
