Zakir’s good run of batting form has all of a sudden pushed his FC average up to nearly 40, he looked promising as an u19 but seemed to struggle after that. Great to see him get into it and get himself back up there with the other prospects.

^Even if he scores 2k in year at domestic fc, batting long and knowing what it takes to stay at the wicket for long (which is what test requires), having great experince. I still don’t think they’ll (bd selection committee) will pick Tushar for BD test squad. Such is the corrupt system and mentality of those in charge of selection and way to run BD cricket!

Stats include some A Team and Test matches during domestic home season.

29 players have averaged 40+ in the last 5 years. Batting averages are certainly on the rise.

Congratulation Tushar Imran.

Too much ton to ignore in National Team. Although selecting him is like a gamble (since the past is not supportive), I recon he can be better than Soummya/Sabbir/Imrul in Test.

Past was 15 years ago, I assume. He played 5 test ,when we used to lose game in 3 days and murali used to take 6 wkt in every innings

Where is tushar going to bat though? You can say similar of Naeem, they are both middle order bats though so unless they take out mushy, shakib or riyad there isn't many places for them. Open spots are mainly up the top in the test xi.

There's probably 1 spot open in the top 7 because I'd say tamim, Liton, mominul, mushy, shakib and riyad are probably locked in. Now if they want Liton to bat up top they' might give the gloves back to mushy or bring in nurul who's been going pretty well himself with the bat.

Thing is with tamim, mushy, shakib and riyad do they want another elder statesman or do they want to inject some youth.

I think they really need to give some experience to youngsters when they can while mushy, tamim, shakib and riyad are still around because they'll possibly all retire around the same time and the team will be stuffed if there is barely any youngsters with experience.

This is why I think it's important to give mominul (he's earned it anyway imo), Liton and shanto a long rope. ,it might even be worth doing the same with nurul if it's true that he's so much better with the gloves than anyone else, his batting will probably come along nicely giving him experience from the age of 24 rather than say at 28 or 30.

As far as seniors, who's going to be dropped? Riyad on stats is probably the worst but he's also clearly within the plans of the team with leadership roles being given to him.

Don't forget tushar isn't ensured success so you've got to weigh up whether it's worth dropping a current senior for him or overlooking a youngsters in the chance that tushar will succeed.

Bangladesh being the test side they are, should always be looking to improve in every department. Right now, the seniors are at their prime and Bangladesh needs to capitialize on that The next few years will be the best time to earn some points and move up the ranking. It doesnt matter if the juniors deserve the extended run or not. If they cant perform better then the seniors, they shouldnt get the spot right now. Tushar Imran could slot on nicely in the middle order right away, Tamim-Liton-Mominul-Mushy-Tushar-Shakib-Riyad and 4 bowlers. Players like Riyad, Shakib have no problem batting down the order and specially Riyad who has the best stats batting lower.

By ignoring Tushar Imran, the management is becoming a laughing stock. Only in Bangladesh, you have a management who is uninterested in experienced players.

Liton especially deserves a spot just as much as anyone, it’s not ignoring tushar when you pick a young kid averaging about 50.

Who said anything about Liton.. he is either gonna open or play lower order. Tushar isn't expected to do either
