I am an Indian, grew up listening to the stories of the great Manoj Prabhakar and Kuruvilla, so hell yes. I have experienced more than my fair share of all the trundling arts including line, length, control, swing etc. So yes I would rather have a spray gun like Varun Aron in my team over someone like Unadkat any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Never thought I would live to see this day where Pandiya is more economical than our spinners.

Well cool. You have simply missed out on the great Javagal Srinath. Oh he was such a class bowler.

He wasn't consistently clocking over 140 clicks, hence, by your definition of a 'trundler', he's one.

And I have seen him bowl in many matches.

Leave Manoj out of this discussion. He was good both with Bat and Ball.

What definition? Sree used to be one of the fastest in the world at the beginning of his career, clocked over 90 MPH on multiple occasions, he cut short a lot of pace during the later half but that doesn't make him a trundler by any definition of mine or otherwise. I have seen Steyn and Morkel clocking in the early 130s in India and Mitchel Johnson in UAE over a longer period of time and they are no trundlers are they?

He symbolizes everything that was wrong with team India of the 90's, a below average cricketer with a shady character, I never thought I would admit it but seeing that video where Jayasuriya tore him a new one gave me immense pleasure.

Rahul is a very good bat, India missing something by skipping him in the other formats.

Completely agree, outrageous how we are wasting a fantastic talent like him, he is up there in the league of Rohit, Kohli and ABD in terms of sheer caliber, he should have been a regular by now, I am sure this in again out again thingy is hurting his confidence big time.

Kohli and Rahul at full flow in a test match, treat to watch and they’d win the game for India no doubt.

I just hope and pray that he gets a consistent run in SA, he is a better batsman against seam and swing than most of our current stalwarts. I have been following his career for quite sometime now and it is agonizing for me to see him languishing in the bench while TTFs like Karthik gets games after games.

We should take a leaf out of India and open against Lankan left arm heavy top order with an offie (Miraz) and a left arm pacer (Rony. Fizz is better when the ball is softer).

It worked for the Indians because they got the upper hand and all their cards in the right place...but I don't think it might be something to follow. ..it's a good strategy yes, but might falter in its execution.

It would be interesting if India played a A-team or something.
