Default ICC WC 2019 venues

I think teams like Bangladesh and Qualifier will play on small grounds like Taunton but I heard that they might use Olympic stadium as well which I think will be only exclusive to some of India's matches

^ What do you mean teams like Bangladesh? BD ranked 7th in the ODI ranking, already through to WC 2019.

BD beat the country of your origin 3-0 2years ago, also beat Ind 2-1, SA 2-1. Losing a Tri series which involved the mighty Zimbabwe, doesn’t make Bangladesh a bad team. Just incase one suffers from short term memory loss, Bangladesh reached CT Semi last year.

“Teams like Bangladesh”
sounded like BD still in the 2003days.

Why would they play BD in taunton. Most Bangladeshi origins are in London, East to be precised. Oval, South-East London, is where Bangladesh matches should be ideally, it’s near two boroughs which has big Bangladeshi community. Last years CT saw BD games full overtook England crowds. First time in England this happened when BD toured because people are aware now BD a good ODI side, hence hype and passion to go watch and support has increased. I expect full crowds for any Bangladesh games at the Oval.

Lol do you think ICC cares about the demographics? They had matches of SC teams in Cardiff when there are minimum SC people there

Rain+England helped us qualify. That one win against NZ was also a factor.

we are 2-0 at cardiff..both of the wins are famous ones..one vs the GOAT Aus team and another one vs NZ in CT last year..in that match we were 33/4 and still won the match taking us to the SF of the CT

Rain or not, it seems you have some inferiority complex. Doesnt matter how BD got there, it wasn’t as if BD called for rain to come and help. It’s natural and happens in cricket. People will talk about how far you went or what you won, not how you got there or won.

No one remembers how Greece won Euro 2004, with ultra fluke (those who saw it, will know). But what counts, TITLE. And eveb jf it was pure luck+fluke, they did win it, that’s what counts end of the day. Not how.

Cardiff and surrounding areas in South Wales has enough desi population, more than 50k and if you add Bristol which is the biggest city in the South-West of England and surrounding then the Desi population goes beyond 200k, Cardiff to Bristol train less than 50mins. Stadium holds 15-20k, am sure there’s enough desis to fill it up. Last time CT was held during Ramadhan hence maybe people didnt travel. But Oval, being near big population of BDeshis it will get filled easily.

And ICC does care about gate money. Pal.. am sure they’ve seen last ct and how BD fans filled up at Oval.

Oval, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester. Will be fine for BD games. Talking about BD, in particular. But Taunton won’t be a venue for the WC anyway. , ECB uses Cardiff stadium for Western England and Wales region.
