long vs short handle cricket bats

Hello everyone. I was wondering if someone could explain the difference between long and short handle cricket bats (other than the obvious ofcourse). Which bat suits an adult aggressive batsman? I would like to order a bat online, but can't decide whether to pick short handle or long handle. My whole life I've shopped at stores for bats, as a result of which I'm having trouble picking the handle size online. I'd really appreciate the help. Thank you.
