SL Tour of the Caribbean|3 Tests| May 30th to June 27th, 2018
So before BD gets over to the Caribbean, SL be there playing only the longer format. 3 tests here.
Add those 2 BD tests, and I'd say it'll be a fun time to watch some good ole Test cricket with 5 tests back-to-back.
And also some history-making in the process: 1st day-night test in the West Indies
Okay, so here's the fixture for the tour:
DATE | MATCH | WHERE |
---|
May 30- Jun 1 | Warm-up | Brian Lara Stadium, Trinidad | Jun 6- 10 | 1st Test | Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad | Jun 14-18 | 2nd Test | Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia | Jun 23-27 | 3rd Test 1st DN Test in WI | Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados |

Sri Lanka Test squad:
Dinesh Chandimal (capt), Mahela Udawatte, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, Roshen Silva, Angelo Mathews (subject to fitness), Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Rangana Herath, Dilruwan Perera, Akila Dananjaya, Jeffrey Vandersay, Lahiru Gamage, Kasun Rajitha, Suranga Lakmal (subject to fitness), Lahiru Kumara, Asitha Fernando
West Indies yet to name their team. I reckon it'll feature some new faces. I am hoping Keemo Paul and Rahkeem (I doubt it) get call-ups

Windies squad:
Jason Holder(c), Devendra Bishoo, Devon Smith, Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Jahmar Hamilton, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Kemar Roach
Devon returns. Jahmar Hamilton is good wicketkeeper-batsman, better than Dowrich

Now that SL BAN over hyped series is done, this one will be a real test for Haturu... how much real impact he has (if any) in the SL team.

Kieran Powell at number 3 is not a bad option.

Going to lunch at 99 for 3 wickets.
Gave away one wicket to the run out route.
These two at the crease need to dig in
Chase on 11
Hope on 29
Narrowly Sri Lanka's session

The answer is yes. They have put up the schedule while the game was going on, and it clearly shows the monumental 3rd test.

I thought we would have been skittles out before the close of play, but credit to Dowrich and Bishoo for a partnership of resistance.
Bishoo is on 0* from 32 balls, and Dowrich is on 46 from 133 balls.
Bishoo is known to be a superb night watchman. I think he has never been dismissed doing the job. Today it was not the case, he came in at his assign position and just batted and provide support to Dowrich.
Earlier in the afternoon session Lahiru Kumara was bowling with some venom, consistently clocking around 90 mph. He got one to hit Roston Chase on his gloves, that was a nasty blow.
Tomorrow looks to be an exciting day of test match cricket.
