Default Just Normal Common Sense Cricket

Tbh, I dont care if we win or lose. As a test playing nations for last 18 years, I want some normal common sense cricket. I dont want to see a guy who has been our most technically solid batsman, former captain playing a reverse sweep when the opposition’s best bowler bowls his first ball and the team is in crisis. Sometimes just doing the basic is good enough. Dont try to do too much out of the box. For example, give more overs to the best bowler of the day. A normal captain would give the ball to Riyad after bowling the best over in the innings. Just hitting the panic button and going all crazy is not the solution. Rashid khan could have been dealt with if our batsman did not play unnecessary riskiest cricket shots. Just play cricket like a senior test playing nation would. No doubt Rashid is a great bowler but our batsman were out by him even before he bowled a single ball in their mind. Aa sujon said, our players are mentally very weak. If Ireland or Afghanistan had gotten test status 18 years ago and had the same facilities and 150 millions of fan support, they would have been one of the best. Its saddening to see them get consumed by fear and pressure. Just go back to the basics and play normal cricket and I am sure we can win the series if we do so.

I agree I expected them to play normal game. But they played with AFG and their ghost!
I disagree that AFG would be over the top soon. They are as passionate as BD so I expect them to cool down in 5/6 years and go below BD in all cricket ranking

This came on Prothom-Alo re: BAN post-match team meeting:

So, the cricket gurus of Bangladesh decided to slog Rashid again (talk about learning from mistakes). Doesn't matter what you or I think.

Rashid Khan is getting over hyped, he is no Murali yet and Afghanistan is no Sri Lanka. The players need to back themselves to beat them, dropping Abul and Abu will help a lot

Those partnerships are crucial.

Liton-Tamim 8 over
Liton-Shakib 12 overs
Mushfiqur-Shakib 16 over
Riad-Shakib/Musfiqur 20 over

Tamim, Sakib, Rahim, Riad... they are playing for so long .... so much experience.... but they rarely dominate in T20 with the bat. What a shame.

The same is true with Rubel with the ball. Still cannot manage to bowl 4 good overs.

Liton to stay up to 12 overs?

I was more into Tamim to play an anchor role to cement the base and Liton to hit during the powerplay.

Tamim: 30 (25)
Liton: 30 (20)
Shakib: 25 (20)
Mushy: 40 (30)
Mullah: 25 (15)
Sabbir: 20 (10)
170 of 20 overs

Who said they are neanderthals, we are still behind in the evolutionary path

53 dot balls out of 120 deliveries. thats about 45% of the deliveries. Even if we scored on 50% of that, we wouldve had 157 runs on the board. Shame on our players. Oshikkito gula
