Very good squad. About time Bijoy and Sabbir get dropped. Hope Sabbir is done for years atleast.

Mominul didnt have a place in the squad with Shakib playing no.3

Really think that Liton-Tamim opening needs some time to grow.

Liton is extremely poor on the off-side. I don't see him last more than 10-15 overs.

Really... how did he do? More details please.
The thing about Mithun is he is already tested and failed. I was speaking from giving chance to next generation thing. Shanto and Afif was highly spoken about when they graduated from under 19.

+1. Agree with you.

As for Liton offside, Tamim was the same when he started off. I think he should be given a prolonged run.

Tamim was never weak on the offside. He had trouble negotiating deliveries bowled on his legs though and he had a limited array of shots in his arsenal but he was never really clueless on the legside. But Tamim was lucky to have a coach like Siddons who worked on his technical flaws with patience and Tamim too would tirelessly practice his batting techniques. But as far as I know none of the younger generation of players like to practice extra except for Mominul. But I agree I like Liton so far and I think he deserves a longer run but he definitely needs to improve his offside game because that is what is known as the corridor of uncertainty that the bowlers like to exploit where even confident batsmen find it difficult

Liton has been working on his offside games for sure. Since his return, he has been playing all around the ground. His preference is definitely the legside but I have seen some beautiful drives from him on the offside recently.

So seems sabbir got dropped for disciplinary reasons, talented but has a lot of issues to work out and a lot of growing up to do.

Mithun and Mosaddek are both a waste of a spot. With Shabbir left out, we should have played Soumya at 6. I would have liked to have seen Abu Zayed picked for this tour also. We need more pace options ready for England. I hope Ariful makes it count. Haven't really seen him hit big yet but I can't imagine the Coach playing him at 6 if he doesn't have the big shots in his armory

If ariful and mithun get chances and don’t work out then team is up so and so creek. Then who’s next? Try soumya lower down? Bring in al amin and or afif to give them a try.

We should already know enough about mithun, ariful, mominul etc these guys should’ve gotten opportunities probably over the last year, at least then tournaments like the Asia cup and series leading up to WC would be more about finding the right xi for the WC and giving back ups experience than still trying to find players for certain roles.

Anyway, I say plan on having muahy and riyad at 6/7, I think we are more likely to find some decent batsmen who can bat 3-5 than we are lower order hitters.

Ah well, hopefully someone steps up out of shanto, ariful, mosa, mithun and liton continues his upward trend (he is getting better).

Mithun may or may not be the solution, but he was never given enough chance. I hope this time, whether we like it or not, Mithun and Ariful get enough chance before discarding them again.
