Still can't figure out why Shamsur Rahman is not going to India. The boy just scored a match winning 62 (74b, 4*4, 6*3) in the CCL semifinal match against Bashar led Acme

Hopefully, he will be able to prove himself against visiting England U/19.

If Bangladesh is involved in 'age cheating' then it is most likely that the other subcontinent team like India, Srilanka and Pakistan will be involved in ' age cheating'. This is a subcontinent culture not only us. The difference is no fan from other countries would come to a message board and say that their country is involved in 'age cheating'.

Thanks for the update r_s

Bad news that they lost... but i do hope they will win also. However... here are the parts from the match report that i liked:

"The team's plight could have been much worse, but for a fighting innings by skipper Rahim (40) and a late order assault by Shuva (45), "

"Dhiman hit 27 in just 21 balls, studded wth four boundaries and a six before getting out. Tanmoy lasted longer and made 43 in 47 balls with seven hits to the fence."

"Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan (24) added 44 runs for the fifth wicket to steady the innings. Rahim then added 53 runs with Shuva to take his team to the modest total. Shuva was ruthless as he struck eight fours in his innings that lasted 38 balls."

Personally... I am a fan of Mushfiq Rahim & Dhiman Ghosh.. but Shuva (I guess it is actually Shuvo) & Tonmoy also looks good. No bright spots in bowling yet though.

What bother me most is the way BD-U19 started the game.
"Earlier, Bangladesh began disastrously losing four wickets for just 35 runs as leg spinner Piush Chawla struck in each of his first two overs. He took two wickets in consecutive balls in his second over to put Bangladesh in dire-straits" .

Is not this the same old same for us ?Our bowlers gave away 50 runs in 5.6 overs !!

Why we have to be so shaky to play the game? This is the problem I have been seeing for under aged group as well as for our National team .
Mentally we are still very weak which needs to be addressed seriously.

Dhiman and Tanmoy are Indian u-19 players not Bangladeshi.

Dhima Ghosh is a promising hard hitting batsman of BD Junior team and a possible future weketkeeper for BD also.

Take a look at his stats: Dhiman Ghosh

They are talking about Indian Batsman Gourav Dhiman here. Our Dhiman Gosh is nowhere near that u/19 tournament, he is rather busy playing in the NCL for Chittagong.

About the Defeat to SriLanka....it seems SriLanka is really a curse for us in any form/age-group!

What I felt at the beginning of this tournament was that it was going to be a real tough one for the BDU-19 despite all the success they had in recent times. One reason being the competitive mode of all the other participating teams. And the other could be that all the countries have actually sent their 'Best of the bests' players for the tourney.... which might not have been the case for the very recent (successful) tours by the BD U-19 team to different other countries.

yeahh where r those people who tries to find the age cheating problem every time we win and when we lose they starts to shout the most... i am sick and tiered or those people... And top of that some are saying may be they r taking STRAIGHT players in the deaf tournament as if the referee 's r blind.. People needs to understand that this cricket not football and we are far away from them in every level.....we r still playing the plate champ'ship....

well, don't shoot the messenger.

agree that age cheating is rampant throughout subcontinent, so BD probably won't get 1st place, but runners up after Pakis and India and Lankans.
