Yupe, that was poor reasoning.

At last a very convincing performance! Well played Nafis! Bangladesh's batting seems to depend too much on Nafis's. Bowler's are really doing great. Congratulation to the coach.

Pakistan has a good team. But as usual it will be a battle between Pakistani bowlers and Indian batsmen.

Pakistani batsmen seldom fights it out in the middle. Either they tear the opponents or they meekly give in. On the other hand Indian battters knows how to build an innings. Twice in the tournament they came back strongly after initial collapse. India is without Irfan Pathan, that probably gives the Pakistani team a better chance.

that Shikari dude, Dhiwan, is enough to crush all bowling attacks in this tournament - he is the real find, although lots of good players around.

while nafees did well with the bat, we have 3 bowlers who will end up with 10 or more wickets - enamul in the lead - that has got to be promising

Now it looks like we will play Australia in the plate finals barring a disaster in the semi. We should treat that final as our championship and go all out. It will restore the confidence immensely. I still can't forget the match against New Zealand. It was easily within grasps and had we won, we will be competing in the super league now.

Rafiq bhai: It is my personal opinion that Shikhar dhawan is grossly over-aged.

This is very silly reasoning. I wonder if australia will stop playing cricket and start learning the basics once their u-19 fails to win the plate championship.
Are we comparing Australia with BD only because they are playing in the Plate? Australia is here only because of NRR after losing only a single game. Not because they lost all there games. They had only one single bad day, otherwise they showed there strength.

BD is the only Test playing country in this competition who has failed to defeat any other test playing country. All others, including Nepal and Zimbabwe, beat at least one other Test playing country.

When we are afraid to win against Ireland, with 7 players in our squad having experienced with First class, 3 of them having a batting avg. of more than 40, 3 of them having played in Test, its a pity.

Look at the other teams please, except India and pakistan, they dont have many players who have any first class experience. SA has none, Australia has none (well, one player played a single match scoring 4), NZ has none.

With a team with experienced and proved players, no wins against any real team, whereas we even endeavor to win against canada or uganda, its not so easy to be optimistic.
"It's not easy to be optimistic", you mean to say you were optimistic at all?
You argue that Australia had one bad day and got demoted to silver plate due to run rate; why is it hard to accept that BD had two bad day which resulted in it's demotion to silver plate?

You argue that several players in the team has played either first class cricket, or international cricket. So? What does it justify? Our players hardly win practice match with second-third graded national teams, so what makes them better if they played first class matches or test matches?

I think the most important question one should ask before starting such criticism is, "What is my expectation?"

If you expect bangladesh to win U-19 championship, this is absurd. If you expect them to take part in the semi-final than it is dubious. if you expect them to atleast stay in the cup championship it is still too high standard. What is very realistic is that they atleast win the plate championship, because this is as far as BD u-19 team can go, at this moment.

Also there is so many other factors to consider. This was perhaps the most unexpected cricket tournament ever. Bd team trashed nepal in the practice matches but later nepal showed much more maturity when it mattered.

So to jump into conclution that BD should stop playing international cricket and start learning basics is absurd and a bit silly. And it's not helping.

Cheers,
pavs
