Curse of the Golden Flower, another Tang Dynasty classic, this time from master film maker Zhang Yimou of Jou Do and Raise the Red Lantern fame. Fabulous eye-candy epic featuring great performances from the incomparable Gong Li and Chow Yun Fat. The best I've seen since House of the Flying Daggers, also a must see for those into Shakespearian plots and intrigues.

Curse of the Golden Flower was excellent. But cant agree with House of Flying Daggers to be better than Hero.... House of Flying Daggers was too stretched and melodramatic, and a little less artistic (but the dance scene with the drums was awesome).

Have you watched Warriors of Heaven and Earth? Slightly different sort of story than the above three.
