Steve Davis (Aus) is a good Umpire
Ian Gould : Dont know much about him
Nigel Llong (Eng): It will be hard to get an LBW decision out of him if you are a spinner. (only my opinion from what I have seen on Sky tv : english county games and list a games)

Default Tigers slip into Johannesburg

Johannesburg, Nov 2 (bdnews24.com) - The Bangladesh cricket team reached South African shores virtually unnoticed on Sunday after completing a 16-hour journey for a challenging month-long tour.

Two Bangladesh High Commission officials and a Cricket South Africa staff were present at the Oliver Tambo Airport to receive the Tigers who landed at 8:35am local time (12:35pm BST) and there was no media in attendance, according to a story filed by tigercricket.com, the official website of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

As the players came out of the terminal the odd clap and 'welcome to South Africa' chants from locals in the waiting area was the closest to a sporting reception for he tourists who headed straight for the team hotel, the Palazzo Montecasino. However, the coach ride, which would normally take 40 minutes at most lasted two hours due to a traffic jam.

With no training scheduled for the day the squad completed lunch inside the sprawling Montecasino entertainment complex adjacent to the hotel before settling in. Montecasino is a major recreational centre in Johannesburg and boasts the biggest movie screen in Africa called the "Il Grande". It also has a casino and a skate park, restaurants, a 135 meter high baloon ride and a birds sanctuary. Built to look like an old Italian castle the complex even has a fascinating artificial sky inside.

The Bangladesh side will get their preparation going tomorrow when they train at the Wanderers in the morning. There is gym and swimming scheduled for the afternoon. The weather has been a sunny and comfortable mid-20 degrees here. The tour gets underway on Wednesday with a T20 international against the hosts.

Default Tigers ready to face SA

Bangladesh captain Mohammed Ashrafal said on Tuesday that his team was buoyed by their recent good performance against New Zealand, and were looking to play their best against South Africa.

Speaking ahead of the Standard Bank Pro20 match at the Wanderers on Wednesday evening, Ashrafal was unperturbed by the loss of a large number of Bangladesh players to the Indian Cricket League (ICL), which left him with a very inexperienced side.

"The ones who went to the ICL were not superstars. We're not missing them".

Default SA must shut out Bangladesh to remain second place

South Africans are bit worried of ranking position

South Africa faces a tough challenge to retain its second place in the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship table as it hosts Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series starting in Potchefstroom from tomorrow. The Proteas currently sit in second place on 118 ratings points and to maintain that position, they will have to win the series 3-0.

As South Africa enters the series leading Bangladesh by 71 rating points, it is expected to win convincingly and so failure to win all the ODIs would cost it heavily. Defeat in one match would cost it two ratings points and would drop it to 116 and third place behind England when the ratings are calculated beyond the decimal point.

If Bangladesh wins the series 2-1, South Africa will slip to 112 ratings points and fifth in the championship table behind Australia, England, New Zealand and India, and just ahead of sixth-placed Pakistan who are going head to head with the West Indies in a three-match ODI series in Abu Dhabi from next Wednesday.
