I think some people here wanted to drop Rokibul for this test instead of Ashraful ...
Ash's free ride is over- We always like to boast about the 2 matches he won for us (along with the contribution of 10 other players). But no one ever mentions the numerous matches we lost because of his reckless and untimely gift-wickets. In the last 2 years, he averages 15 in tests (with 1 century- so minus the century its under 10). That's the least among all the batsmen that played over that period (including Mashrafe).. And he is supposed to be our premier batsmen- middle order anchorman- ultra talented ba.. (mukh ta kharap korlam na)... Adding to all all that, he averaged 6 in 4 innings against a 4th string WI attack (less than Shahadat, Enamul). So please please stop saying that we need him to win something. His time is up. If Tushar Imran played 50 tests he would have averaged better than him.

"In our nine years, this is the biggest thing that has happened to Bangladesh cricket," said Shakib, who also hit 13 fours in his innings.
"This series victory will give a boost to our confidence, and will help to take us to the next level, and with God's help, we shall go forward.
"There was not too much pressure on us (on Monday), since the boys have been playing really, really well. It was a good victory."

Congratulation to Rakibul, Sakib, Riad, Mushfik and Tamim (for fielding)
You guys rock!!!!
Sakib speaks fire to the reporters, very statute, acoustic and nonchalant.

Congratulation for the winning this test series. This series will be memorable for a long time and deserve some applause. Good to see Shakib Hassan with his consistent performances on both roles that is required as all rounder. Enjoy while you can!

[22:46:46] also dont forget to kick ash out
[22:47:43] *** IanW shrugs
[22:48:15] I wouldnt kick Ash out. I'd have him play a lot more cricket somewhere, but he's too good a cricketer to kick to the curb
[22:48:38] don't forget he's the best leggie in the side, either, and that this gives you another change-bowling option
[22:48:40] kick out of test I meant. he can stay arond for ODI for the time being
[22:48:51] blah : no, I think he's more valuable in Tests
[22:49:22] the other point is that it's no longer about him. If he can get over that, then he can just go out there and enjoy his cricket
[22:50:22] IDK he never seemed very impressive to me. Captain or no captaincy. He always seems to fight with himself to figure out what he should do.
[22:51:36] feels like a "bhooja" much like bashar was in his end days.
Blah telling Ian "bhooja" instead burden.

Very impressive knock under pressure by this young man!

I was about to write something about that and saw you. You are dead right. He counter attacked and paved the way, so to speak, for Sakib to join in and give it a further boost. Very important knock in the context of historic standpoint . We consider him as a cornerstone of our batting order since he bats right in the middle. He already is a very good one day player and also showed his mental strength in this test. This WI pace attack is very good as well.

so so so so so so..... happy. congrates to BD and specially Sakib. total captain like leading from the front with bat and ball. it proves he is a much better captain as he lead almost both test matches. as did very well and now if they won the ODI & T20 series as well then i am guessing that BCB would like to have him the captaincy.(?)

Are the Windies using the same team in the one dayers?
If so I expect a walkover considering Bangladesh is a much better one day side than a test one

They have selected a much better team than the test team, so BD will have to really fight hard to win any ODIs
