In my opinion, BD is still looking for a good captain. I think Habibur was average but too defensive. We always complained about this. Mashud - naah, Ashraful - BIG NO, Shakib - need more time to say he is the one. Two series with two bad teams, the result does not reflect 100% success story.
So "None" would be my pick (but missing option)

when you say defensive, isnt that good for us, as we got all the offensive batsmens hitting at every bowl being bowled, imagine him not being defensive we wouldnt have won the amount he won as captain?

I am not saying defensive as batsmen, I am saying deffensive captaincy. You just play and use bowler such a way that waiting for something to happen. Not attacking, not using different options. I know BD does not have much options. But I think he could do better, like Shakib did against WI. He gave ball to Ash right on time and clicked. Some risk, some luck. Well I like Shakib for that, but its too early to say Shakib is a good captain.

Shakib definitely has a more aggressive and assertive approach than any other captain in the past. I would've loved to see what a Whatmore/Shakib combo could do for Bangladesh.

Shamim Mia, it's not all about the results, it's what you do with them that matters. Maybe it's time to open a poll to decide what we should do with the results of all the existing ones.

How is Shakib the best captain?

He hardly captained the side. Won against two depleted teams and won.!!

It have to be Bashar even though he was depensive at times.

People only remembers the present and forget the past!!

Not really brother. From my point of view Bashar is the second best. The best I have seen so far is Sakib. Bashar was way too defensive.

Apart from that Bashar almost never changed his batting line up or the overs to be bowled by each bowler. He rarely took into account the match situation. Some times over-thinking can ruin things as well its true. It may happen to Sakib in a game or two. But the fact of the matter is that he actually holds the nerve to try things out or try and play according to game situations.

He is the first Bangladeshi Player let alone captain to think deep into the game. Sometimes I feel as if he is far ahead of all of us fans (who are sitting at home and writing in our wish-lists) in terms of reading match-situation.

....but I do agree with you that he still has a long way to go before we can actually make a solid statement. But my comments were based on what I have seen so far .

I am so glad to see these two in a car (instead in a motor cycle). Now if only we can have automatic seat belt installed.

Aste aste motorcycle theke gari te uthse[hierarchy of safety] koedin por inshallah seat belt o porbe.
p.s. considering the traffic jam in dhaka, no car goes past 40km/h. So we dont need to worry as they stay in dhaka.

Truely so. Otherwise Shakib even wouldn't be in the list for evaluation.
A captain can only be evaluated/compared when he finishes his term or have been captain for a long time.
