Thanks a lot, thebest . Felt so nice seeing the pictures on your FB.
That's very discouraging to know about the lack of interest of the people. It should have been rather the opposite. But I can never forget those days since my childhood ... First with my father, then elders and then with friends.... Sweet feelings...if some people aren't coming it's their loss, they are missing it....
Milan Kundera wrote a novel about the nature of forgetting and how it occurs in a personal, historical and political context. It's beautiful and has some memorable lines which are very apt when considering such a video:
"It is 1971, and Mirek says that the struggle of man against power is the struggle of memory against forgetting" (p.3)
"The bloody massacre in Bangladesh quickly covered over the memory of the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia, the assasination of Allende drowned out the groans of Bangladesh, the war in the Sinai Desert made people forget Allende, the Cambodian massacre made people forget Sinai, and so and so forth until ultimately everyone lets everything be forgotten." (p.7)
(Milan Kundera "The Book of Laughter and Forgetting" (1980))
You can see in this video how this is happening in front of our very eyes.
disagree with the creator. eto nijeke bahbah dewar kisoo nai. tomare ekta camerar shamen felle quiz maira na janle shara rajjyo prochar kora dewa eto book fatanaor kisoo lagena
If anyone who should be ashamed is the video creator himself for exploiting the deaths of martyrs in some jaywalking skit to make fun of the ignorant with self-righteous trumpery.

Sure and I bet this lack knowledge is not limited to the confines of Dhaka. Do the same walkabout in any other city or town, you'll get the same or even worse ignorance. It speaks to how poor our educational system.
