ALL THE ACTION AS IT HAPPENS

4 mins: Argentina are clearly trying to play a pressing game to try and unsettle the Ivory Coast. Chris Waddle, Five Live Sport

3 mins: Ivory Coast's first attack ends with Didier Drogba getting in a header that goes well over the bar.

2 mins: Argentina are quickly on the attack and Juan Riquelme tries his luck with a long-range free-kick.

1 min: The Group of Death's opening game between Argentina and Ivory Coast kicks off - the question is which two sides - Holland and Serbia and Montenegro are the other teams in the section - will leave to tell the tale.

22 mins: There is not let-up in this game as Juan Riquelme leads an Argentina breakaway that ends with Hernan Crespo's cross being cleared by the Ivory Coast defence.

20 mins: A great couple of minutes for the Ivory Coast which sees great combination play between Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba and then a strong run from Didier Zokora.

Zokora wins a corner, from which Abdul Kader Keita almost gets a header on target.

18 mins: Abdul Kader Keita relieves some of the pressure on the Ivory Coast defence with a strong run only to overhit his cross.

87 mins: This is a stirring fightback from the Ivory Coast - they are throwing players forward as they look for that equaliser. Argentina goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri does well to gather a difficult cross.

85 mins: Maxi Rodriguez gets the ball in the net after Jean-Jacques Tizie spills the ball but the Argentine's goal is disallowed for offside.

80 mins: GOAL Argentina 2-1
Didier Drogba gives the Ivory Coast hope they can salvage a point from this game.

The Chelsea striker swivels to fire a shot past Roberto Abbondanzieri.

Argentina got their World Cup campaign off to a winning start with a victory over Ivory Coast in a gripping opening to Group C in Hamburg.

Roberto Ayala saw a header come back off the post before Hernan Crespo put Argentina ahead from close range.

Javier Saviola then latched on to Juan Riquelme's exquisite throughball to flick in the second before the break.

Didier Drogba turned in a low shot to set up a frantic finale but Ivory Coast were let down by some poor finishing
