Not much good coaches applied yet. To attract high profiles coaches we need to make their job a bit easy. More leaves will do the job.
So far Mik Newell is the best option to me. I

All 3 are poor choices. Just for the press to talk about something. I hope BCB stops wasting money finding a coach by being able to hire a good and permanent one.

No high profile coach please... I would like a low profile coach he take this job with paasion...but no Siddon please...once divorced there is too many hurt feelings and baggage in both sides to overcome yto make the marriage workable.

Please no McDermott or Greatbatch. Hooper is ok but not sure how he'll handle International side. So far all three of the candidates not suitable IMO

So, some of you guys and myself included forgot how BCB works.. They put in some names but behind the scenes, they are contacting or has someone else in mind. It happened since Watmore days and I am in strong belief that none of those are guys will be the final head coach. But if I had my preference amongst the two, I wouldve picked Craig-- I still remember that game against Pakistan in the world cup where he demolished them with his fearsome bowling vs. Hooper was never the kind, to me, who could inspire a team to toughness-- not a coach material..

Nazmul Hossain, (from what I have seen during my brief internship at Beximco), isnt loud and babbling before knowing his stuff. Offcourse, there are still loud mouth Lipu, Yunus, Shiraj within BCB payroll who can give random names without actually contacting the coach in reality..I would completely disregard whatever media says until theres a formal annoucement from BCB about the head coach.

Newell or Craig McDermott would do it for me. No one else seems like a capable coach. But i wish Ponting could coach us. He would bring so much professionalism to the team and he would be able to instill the Aussie methods into the team.

Greatbatch has a very bad record wherever he has taken up coaching. Warwickshrie got relegated from County Championship with him as director of coaching. New Zealand was also terrible under Greatbatch. So pursuing him as an option for the second time could indicate BCB's ignorance, or lack of interest of better coaches.

An article in new age states BCB wants a batting oriented coach which rules out McDermott. It must be stated McDermott has played a key role in the revival of Australia's pace attack in recent times. He has been heavily praised by media, players for his efforts. He is a very hands on coach with high attention to detail. We will be actually quite lucky to have him. All BCB needs to do is appoint another batting coach to work under him. BCB had the same approach in mind when they targeted South African Vincent Barnes for the head coach role. Barnes was South Africa's bowling coach.

Hooper might have been a great leader and captain, but we are at a juncture where we need an experienced head leading the team. Someone who has coaching experience at the highest level. Even coaching an associate country is better than not having any proper coaching experience.

I'd be totally ok hiring McDermott. If he doesn't like BD then why don't BCB send the whole national team to Australia (or whichever country the next coach may be) and use their facility. ;-)

On a serious note, I'm all for Newell as the head coach and Micky D. as the bowling since Pont is not in BCB list. Micky did some tremendous work with the OZ team while in charge. I know life style wise nobody would trade Ireland for BD but it would be a move up for Micky from an associate side to a test side bowling coach again.

And please no W. Indian especially Carl Hooper. Unless it's Lara or Ambrose/ Walsh coming for a stint, I don't they will as effective with our boys. And Great Batch is no good and will definitely turn out to be a Bypass I mean Pybus...won't last 2 months.

Craig McDermott would be the perfect candidate. He specialises in pace bowling which Bangladesh need desperately.

Its not that West Indian coaches are not good. Its just that Carl Hooper has no experience. Newell would be one of the best possible options, whether he is keen on joining us or not is the question.

If BCB can get Craig than why not Pont? I dont think they want a bowling head coach since Shane is already there and they are not gonna get rid of him. Hooper it is

I think they've had some difference in terms of agreement - probably Pont wanted a rise or something. Same with Julian, both were handed poorly (surprise!) by the BCB.
