I'm looking forward to this game. It will be weird if we can't beat Sri Lanka after what Zimbabwe just done because we thrashed Zimbabwe in the first match. I still think we'll face Sri Lanka in the final since I don't think they'll lose to them again, and run-rate will play a part. Zimbabwe were thrashed in the first game, but I don't think we'll thrash Sri Lanka like that. What I don't understand is how Sri Lanka have beaten India twice recently, but seem to struggle badly against Zimbabwe. I don't think India even with their B team will lose once to Zimbabwe.

I will not read too much into SL's defeat today. This was their warm-up on Mirpur. Also, the match prolly will help them to find their best combination (ie Sandakan in place of Hasaranga).

Why would they come hard? They lost to a team that has beaten them 3 out of the last 4 games.

I think they have a stronger and longer batting line up than us, I really do. Anamul has to score big, he failed vs Zim.

We will have to bowl really well to win this one, as we did vs Zim. I don't think none of our bowlers will pick up two in one over again like Shakib did. So we will need a very tight and measured performance from all bowlers.

Sri Lanka sweat over Mathews fitness
Quote:
"At the moment he is under observation for 24 hours and we will take a decision later if he will play or not," Samaraweera revealed. "I think he had hurt his hamstring; we are not sure if it's hamstring or cramping."

Mathews skipped the practice session ahead of the important game against Bangladesh while Sri Lankan head coach Chandika Hathurusingha spent a long time chalking out plans with Dinesh Chandimal. Samaraweera insisted that they have got different plans to counter Bangladesh's bowling.

"We have different plans for the individuals (it is not only about Mustafizur)," Samaraweera said. "I can't say specifically but Bangladesh got top quality spinners.

Mortaza plays down importance of Hathurusingha's presence in SL camp
Quote:
"At the back of the mind, winning is all that remains. There is nothing else to think apart from winning the match. Ultimately if you think too much, pressure is bound to creep in. Everyone is thinking of playing against a team rather than thinking about an individual."

Thilan Samaraweera, Sri Lanka's batting coach, too felt Hathurusingha's presence in their camp doesn't give his side any advantage. "I don't think there is any advantage because in world cricket I do not think there are any secrets now," he said.

"Players are playing franchise cricket and share dressing room. I do not think Bangladesh is playing against Hathurusingha, they are playing against Sri Lanka team. I do not think those things will really matter."

Mortaza also reckoned his side will have to take a leaf out of Zimbabwe's book while facing Sri Lanka, as they chased their second win of the tournament. He also called for retention of focus in a tournament where outcomes in just four fixtures will decide their fate.

"We have to play the Zimbabwean brand of cricket that they displayed yesterday. It is not like Zimbabwe won without playing good cricket. Sri Lanka can come up with similar brand of cricket so we must be ready to tackle that situation," he said.

"In a tri-nation series, keeping the tempo in four matches is difficult because you can go wayward in one or two matches and so we must remain focused," Mortaza said.

Wait, wait, wait, wait....anyone know if N. Kulasekera and Malinga are injured? Because why are they not selected? They can get inside the head of the Bd players so easily. Bd hates facing any experienced campaigners. Picking them is a no brainer.

I am sure the devious Hathurisingho will be playing mind games to get an advantage over the mentally weak Tigers.

Bismillah. I think Nasir is extra baggage and really of no use.

Lankans will be hurting from the loss and it would have been a shock to them. But they are a professional unit so we need to watch out for that and not take them likely.

Hathuru or Lankans in general are not known for playing mind games. Instead of keeping up with reality, you seem to let your mind run wild with some weird imaginations

boy this whole Hatura in SL camp is getting blown way out of proportion. Other than Sanzu, all our players have been in the international circuit for several years. Everyone knows everyone at this point.

Dickwella in place of Mathews seems to be putting Sunza out of favor, with 3 out of top 4 Lankan batsmen being lefty. Mash hinted they're looking to boost late order batting as well. Chance for one from Miraz, Saifuddin, and Raju.

With fog reduced significantly, they're expecting a hard pitch and a high scoring match tomorrow.
