If these 2 Musy and Mullah can hang in there and score a century each, we have a chance of winning!

Best to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, edged and gone! pitched up and angling across, Iqbal is sucked in to the drive - a nothing shot and he ends up with a thick edge which goes straight to Reifer at first slip

Bangladesh 45/1 Imrul Kayes 29* (55b 3x4) TL Best 7-2-17-1

Sammy to Imrul Kayes, OUT, gone! good length delivery and this one nipped back in a touch, Kayes fails to pick it up and shoulders arms and the ball goes on to hit him on the pad. Looked like the ball was going to miss the off stump but umpire Ashok de Silva was convinced that it was going to clip the stump
Imrul Kayes lbw b Sammy 33 (66b 4x4 0x6) SR: 50.00
Bangladesh 49/2 Junaid Siddique 0* (6b) DJG Sammy 7.5-3-10-1

Bernard to Raqibul Hasan, OUT, lady luck finally stops smiling on Raqibul as he fails to keep the drive down. Sammy at gully bends low to his right and takes the catch. Sammy and Roach are overjoyed to see the back of Raqibul
Raqibul Hasan c Sammy b Bernard 14 (38b 2x4 0x6) SR: 36.84
Bangladesh 79/3 Junaid Siddique 14* (49b 1x4) DE Bernard 2.2-0-5-1
44.2
Bernard to Junaid Siddique, OUT, that does the trick! short delivery outside the off stump and Siddique goes for the pull but ends up scooping the ball straight to Dowlin at short midwicket. Soft dismissal
Junaid Siddique c Dowlin b Bernard 27 (70b 4x4 0x6) SR: 38.57
Bangladesh 98/4 Mohammad Ashraful 6* (27b 1x4) DE Bernard 6.2-1-16-2

Best to Mohammad Ashraful, OUT, got'm! good length delivery in the channel outside the off stump, Ashraful goes for the drive and ends up with a thick edge straight to the keeper. Big wicket this
Mohammad Ashraful c †Walton b Best 6 (30b 1x4 0x6) SR: 20.00
Bangladesh 100/5 Shakib Al Hasan 2* (4b) TL Best 9.3-3-23-2

2.00pm Apologies for raising your hopes. The covers are back on, and it's raining pretty hard at this point. No resumption any time soon. Wait on. What a let down.

That's a very disturbing trend. You could be right about taking debutants lightly & not preparing enough on them. But when wickets are falling like automatic gun shots, shouldn't that trigger seriousness instinctively?
However, just as an alternative thought, I feel that they don't have the skill to read the bowler on the pitch within the innings and adjust their game according to the debutant bowler/batsmen. That also could be a reason.
Best/Sami aren't actually debutant & they should have got the video footage of the test/ODIs they have played.

Hey guys, the digicel twitter site has updates during the tests with someone actually at the ground. In my experience they are often better than cricinfo....

2.12pm This is utter madness. There is bright sunshine now, and the covers are coming off. But no news as to when play will start. Hold fire.

See at the bottom of the live score commentary page, you'll see ''send commentary feedback'' link. I think that's how you do it.

Yeah, yeah, I know that old say, "think....bat". But if there was ever a time to bowl first this would have been it. for two very big reasons:
1) its been raining overnight and both outfield and pitch was sloggy.
2) this is the main reason: we got 9 debutants who did not even had a chance to practice together. They probably did not even had a line up set, when the captain went for the toss. Bowling first give them the chance to settle down and think their strategy trough. It was the difference between starting an air strike at the middle of the night and dropping of leaflet a day ago that at this and this time there will be air strike.
Now, I of course don't know for sure who's decision was it. But whoever took the decision, it was a blunder, no doubt about that.
|
Yeah, yeah, I know you are right.

2.18pm The covers are completely off, and the experts think that if the weather holds, we might see some play in the next half-hour.
