Canada shows how it's done
New Zealand 363/5 (50 ov)
Canada 188/3 (35.0 ov)
|
Canada require another 171 runs with 7 wickets and 13.2 overs remaining
The way Canada have approached this huge run chase shows there is a big of difference in their and our attitude. Yes, they will probably lose in the end but at least they will take pride in the fact they tried, and batted better than us. SL's bowling may be a little tougher than NZ, but so what?
There is no excuse for our loss to SL yesterday except our own mishaps, below par performance and lack of winning spirit. If we worked nearly as hard as we did against India could have been looking at a more realistic target, not to mention a better run chase, and if not win at least reduce the humiliating margin we lost by.
Makes you think.. are we really getting better?

I'm watching the game and thinking the same thing. And I'm also thinking our defense of 278 against them wasn't so shabby after all.

Its true that they did something that they can be proud of but can they claim, their eleven players are from their own soil? Some of them come from west indies, some from Australia and even Pakistan.
Wheather we win or lose, we can say all of them are made in Bangladesh..
I hope you've got my point

I did not even turn on the tv today because I thought both the sames would be uninteresting. Just turned on the tv but looks like "kufa lageye diyesi".

Same applies to Ireland, but ultimately more is also expected of us than a non-test playing country like Canada.

lol, people.
Care to visit a scorecard of a certain warmup game? That's when BD showed how it is really done against NZ.
When NZ got bundled out of 85 at home not long ago against SL did anyone see anything?
No matter what canada is showing we have already showed more than that in the warmup matches, tri series and against India.

NZ's bowling is really week today. They are missing Shane Bond and James Franklin and other than Vettori, anyone hardly looked dangerous. Good batting from Davison though. We all know what he is capable of and he showed his class today.

We defeated this NZ team with 2 extra players right? We also defeated Canada ..
All NZ's recent successes came from their batsmen, not the bowlers. So today's performance of Canada doesn't mean rat's behind.

Without nothing to lose, and having a deadly weapon in John Davison, Canada obviously had no business in starting with any sense of caution. I dont think that the context of this game can be compared to BD-SL game. But I will definitely admit that BD's start against SL did NOT impress me one little bit.

makes me think...are you really insane? why are you so weightless. why are you so featherlike, wavering to and fro between your opinions within a fortnight. also makes me think...after spending so many hours in this forum, why are people still so retarded. dont they learn?
next time we lose badly and you dont have anything positive to say, please keep your a$$ home. dont come to this site and worsen my mood. taking in a bangladeshi loss is bad enough for me...then coming to the forum and fighting on their behalf against these ridiculous charges is worse.

Watch what you are saying, this is a public forum not your house. My opinion is no different than most others, we've lost badly to SL, there is nothing to be proud about. Canada's spirited approach to NZ's massive target highlighted that even more. If you aren't open to constuctive criticism then get the hell off my thread and take your moodswing somewhere else.

i didn't watch the BAN-SL match but i think what happened is a top-order quick batting collapse. it has been happening a lot in the carribean pithces and i warned about it before the tourny. teams need to super-careful against the new ball.

We showed the 'same' thing against a much better Sri lankan attack at the ICC champions trophy in Mohali. We made a fighting 265 and only lost by 37 runs.
Maybe this time we wanted to win and we lost badly, doesnt matter.
We are improving.

Your nick reeks of trash that I call "I-am-an-optimist-so-I-will-bash-anyone-that-criticises-my-team". If you have an opinion about cricket, please enlighten us, or else go away.

Have to appreciate Canada's effort.
I don't think we had a clear strategy against the Lankans. We did not attack and again we did not hold either. Very ennoying cricket. Very agonising cricket.
We should have a clear moto. A clear goal. Otherwise we won't do much progress in this WC.
Take a look at some points:
1.Sending Mushfique at 3 was a wrong decision.
2.Taking powerplay after 10 overs was a wrong decision.
3. We are still playing one batsman short, before it was Javed but do you know who's the newest addition? It is our beloved captain Habibul. When he will drop himself?
4. Playing Ashraful at 7 is another waste. Whats the point of sending your one of the best player when the game is almost over? When he has got no companion to support him?
I can show you some more points to look at it. These are vital points to me. Sadly we are not changing our loosing attitude.

you asked whether we were getting better or not. thats the best response i could come up with. i attacked your opinion. if you cant see that, then you have some insecurity issues. thats how i react at something as dumb as what you said. that doesn't mean i think you're dumb. i think that particular comment is dumb.
jeeze.

that shows that our national player doesn't have much difference with other countries first class players.
