Shakib-Mushfiq's fate to be decided Wednesday

Quote:
The management committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has called an emergency meeting to take decisions concerning the five players who are to take part in the upcoming Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) on Wednesday.

With the help of their agents, Tigers' skipper Mushfiqur Rahim, No 1 ODI all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, along with nine other players contacted the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) without informing the BCB.

Players who wish to play abroad are required to obtain a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) from their affiliated cricket board according to ICC regulations.Tamim Iqbal, Nasir Hossain and Elias Sunny have fallen under the rule too.Devoid of the fact that the SLPL will commence from Aug 11, BCB did not receive any letter affiliating the matter from SLC.

BCB has no objection to provide NOC to the five players. But it wishes to conduct the issues abiding by ICC rules."Decisions will be made considering all sides. It is without doubt that the players will acquire experience if they go to play in Sri Lanka ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup," said the managing committee chairman Enayet Hossain.
"But it is more important to see if they have any upcoming international games. More warm-up matches may be required to be played before the T20 World Cup. The national team may have practice sessions. We will make our decision based on these factors," he added.

SLPL has requested players to join their respective teams by Aug 5.

To be honest it would be stupidity to hold the players back for practice matches against zimbos and T&T tourney.

Our star players need need to get acclimatized to the conditions in SL and thats very important going into the world cup. And besides,if these players are involved in other matters, oppurtunities will be created for guys like mominul, sabbir, al-amin in the national T20 side. So its a win-win situation for everyone. BCB just needs to use its brains

EDIT: Oh wait they dont have any.
