BCB should fire Board officials who don't want us playing tests
Some of it is true, but it's the wrong attitude
Quote:
One Bangladesh Board man told me he would rather they hadn't got get test status, there's no money in it –- fewer people watch it and it'll take years for Bangladesh to get anywhere near success. At least they have a good chance in the one-day internationals, he said.

BCB must investigate this. Test is the heart of cricket. He does not have any passion for cricket. He must be fired immediately for sake of Bangladesh Cricket.

that official needs money guyz......the amount of "chorai taka" is less in test cricket......and his pocket is full when there is ODIs.....so he wants to make sure BD plays more ODIs and he can steal more.

The one dollar question is whether we would even get to play so many ODIs against top teams without test status?

I think this guy is responsible for catering for the dhaka venues of
NCL. i heard the board gives tk.180 per player and this guy supplies
cooked food of tk.50, which most players find unpalatable. Considering
that in test matches he is not in charge of such responsibility, he doesn't
want Bangladesh to have test status. by the way do you no BCB has so many
coordinators doing nothing, infact some even do not recognise the players.

a first class tournament.

Does anyone know, who the hell is this guy? Its true that we are not doing very well in test cricket but it doesn't mean ICC has to take away test status from us. This guy doesn't have any passion for Bangladesh cricket so how he is working for cricket board. Because of those stupid Board member, who doesn't have a little knowledge about cricket, we are not doing good in test cricket.

I wonder wheather someone really said it intentionally,or is it yellow journalism,i mean, sometime we also think the same out of pure frustration and one might call it out loud and get caught by the reporters

I can guarantee you that the person who said that, got into cricket after watching the successes of Bangladesh in International cricket (and thus, thinking that money flies in the air just like that).
And when that person actually got the opportunity to get inside the Board, and discovered that there is no gate money, no short term fund coming out of test cricket for this person's pocket, so he said the above comment.

Guys, ICC won't ever take away our test status, for the sake of "Cricket" in general. Currently we are considered the # 9 team Zimbabwe # 10. Zimbabwe already halted their test status. This means currently there are only 9 test playing nations. If ICC drops BD, then there will be only 8 teams left. This will mean that Cricket in general didn't make any progress, because none of the associate teams I don't think will be good enough to take our place in test status. Keeping in mind that ICC wants to grow cricket worldwide, from now on, ICC will try to give the associates test status also, and they won't dare take our test status, cause if they do, then they got only 8 teams left. So good luck with that ICC .

Well, we need some clarification from the board member why and how he said that before we make any comment on it.
But I like the picture of the inside-stadium.
And power outage! It even happens in North America - "La Paradise" and people are dying of it.
