What's so fuss about IPL? We have seen how did it harm India in the longer versions. Sehwag is now out of their team and Gambhir is awaiting the same fate. We should pay attention to longer versions instead of these circus shows.

The answer is obvious man common. If he refused for sake of argument then I don't care how talented he is, needs to be punished as country comes first not pointless IPL where he's not treated right and sits on bench more than half the time. He's already a rich man and earning from BPL and various sponsorships and contracts from board so no need for him to play in IPL.

I completely agree. Nothing comes before playing for your country in cricket.

Out of question. He is a player under contract with BCB. Unless BCB releases him he cannot play in any other competition while national team plays.

BTW Shakib plays best when he plays for the national team. He loves the feeling of playing for the national team. So this kinda question won't raise at all.

It is good for our T20 in a sense that the player will play their hearts out just to make BPL more interesting.

Shakib better sacrifice this year's IPL in front. Coz if he/kkr chooses/requests him to play in IPL, I dont think BCB will have any guts to say no to them and keep this superstar home with our squad for Zim series.

These Indians know that Bangladesh are becoming a force in Cricket and know we could actually challenge them finally in a series. Their bowling attack is much much weaker than West Indies and only have better batsman than us but if we can bat properly and as a unit from 1-11 then we can beat them in an ODI and/or Test series I can guarantee you that. Their old talented players have retired and are starting to retire, become slow and old, losing hair etc and their young guys especially those replacements are really nothing special. Its no secret that India are afraid of our Cricket team now. Like I said before, this is a blessing in disguise and will allow our players to focus more on first class and A games and their Cricket will just go the dustbin.

And to think that IPL increases players ability, wrong!! Pakistan isnt playing in IPL or have their own T20 league but due to their very strong domestic infrastruure, they are still one of the best teams. West Indies do have T20 league but it isnt as flashy as Indian ones.. So the question becomes, other generating money for the teams, BCCI and players.. did it actually do any good for the quality of the game or the national teams? I seriously doubt it..

Yeah, Ravindo Ashwin getting 2.00 million dollars is a good thing but he is by no means a better player than Grayemm Swann or Syed Ajmal or even Shohag Gazi for that matter.. So, seriously, BD players not being in IPL hurts our players finances ( BTW they do get more money than any other star sportsmen in the country) but it matters less on BD team as a whole.. my 2 cents

You serious? I enjoy watching Big Bash more than IPL. I enjoyed IPL from 2007-2008. Don't enjoy much after 2009. Only watch the KKR matches because Shakib plays. Besides, Not taking a single Bangladeshi in the auction means. Less viewers from BD. And there's SLPL coming after IPL. Plenty of BD players will be selected by most franchises. Be on the lookout for that.

Idk about our bowlers, but Shakib, Nasir Mushy, Tamim are the only players that would have made it for sure.

I thought Bangladeshi players were not picked cuz we have a scheduled tour to Zimbabwe in April 2013.
2 tests, 3 odi and 1 T20 will take a month at least, and I'm sure no IPL team would be eagerly waiting for the Tigers to join them in the later stage of the tournament to make some earth shattering difference.
The only one who might, is already listed to play.

LOL, all typical reactions - denial, dissing IPL, backing the ability of our players, going out of our way to stress how useless the league is while secretly fantasizing about it.

I think the IPL is great. Kevin deserves to be on the list, but our guys haven't really done anything great in this format yet. Hey, we still have Shakib and Tamim and who knows, maybe someone like Nasir will sign a last minute deal even if he ends up warming the bench for the season.

IPL auctions never made sense. Maxwell sold for $1m while Ryder went for $260k.

Hahaha so true

Mushy and Nasir definitely deserves to be in the auction list. But, they need a few more good T20 campaigns before pushing their name into the IPL if they want to be seriously considered.

Considering Aaron Finch went unsold i think its no use having Nasir and Mushfiq in the auction list. Maxwell was overpriced
