This is srilanka we are talking about. They always get things done. They are going through a transition themselve, give them some time. As long as Sanga and Jaya's there SL will figure things out.

its not only sanga and jaya. theres also the ice man names samaraweera. Dilshan and the newer batting talents like prasanna jayawardene, tharanga etc. their batting is quite strong actually. its their bowling thats worrying. and its not that their bowlers are missing through injury. this is their best bowling attack, and we will see what happens.

batting wise, they are still a solid unit.

yeah, sreesanth's bowling handed sri lanka an innings defeat on a dead as dodo Indian pitch. http://www.espncricinfo.com/indvsl20...ch/430882.html

I didn't know 2009 was 9 years ago. they suffered 2 consecutive innings defeat on Indian soil. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/en...es/430870.html

India's pitches actually produce results whereas SL's doesn't. I believe that if SL produced sporting pitches, they could have been a more formidable side.

SL's batting line is ok though they slipped once but bowling attack is too weak. With this bowling attack not possible to take 20 wicket.

i guess i read it wrong. this is sri lanka's first innings defeat to england in 9 years.

it seems sri lanka loses by innings quite often. huge blunder by me!

they have played 104 test matches since 2000, won 45, lost 33 and drew the rest.

they won by innings 17 times, lost by innings 10 times. it seems if u win matches, no one will complain even if u lose by innings quite often.

nice stat. SL is a strong team. Now a day the number of their win is more than lose and they loose a very few times by innings. With one innigs defeat shouldn't be criticised lot.

The world's tallest pace attack. . . They need be able to get them out under 250 to win the test most likely, other wise they will end up drawing.

Tamim's Lord century was better though
the partnership between Dilshan-Parana was similar to Tamim-Imrul at Lord's.

as expected, this Sri Lankan side is very very strong in batting. they might even put some pressure on England if they can get a big lead. but dekha jak ki hoy.

Jayasuriya back in SL limited-overs squad

Quote:
Sri Lanka allrounder Sanath Jayasuriya has been recalled to the national ODI and Twenty20 side for the upcoming series against England and Scotland.

There was recent speculation over the possible inclusion of Jayasuriya, who turns 42 in June, following the thumb injury sustained by captain and opener Tillakaratne Dilshan in the second Test against England that has put him in doubt for the third Test, although he has been named in the limited-overs squad.
Cricinfo

Looks like SL is going backwards. Instead of picking a talented young player, they opted for 42 years old guy who is out of touch for long time. SL has lot of young players who need right grooming and opportunities. Picking Jayasuria over a young player is nothing else but wasting a rare chance for a youngster.

^^ Well at least Tamim can be happy.
I don't think Dilshan will play anymore in the series.

What a great batsman!! Born in a wrong country. 152* against Srilanka. Hope he makes it a double.

BD should give him citizenship and let him play for them.
