Neil McKenzie, former South Africa batsman, is set to join the Bangladesh team in the West Indies as the batting consultant of the side. The 42-year old, who has represented South Africa in 124 matches, will take over the role from Thilan Samaraweera.
"We are expecting his arrival during the upcoming Test series against West Indies," a BCB spokesperson told Cricbuzz. "We are confident that his vast experience will help our team, and our batsmen in particular."
Bangladesh, who will be playing two Tests, three one-dayers and three T20Is against Windies, will begin their tour with a two-day practice game against WICB President XI on June 28. The first Test begins on July 4 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Thus, McKenzie, who is expected to join the team from July 7, won't be available with the team for the first Test. He has previously served as the batting coach of South Africa, in two terms - in 2016 and
