Default I tried everything that I could on my part — Misbah

After serving more than six years as Pakistan captain, Misbah walks away from international cricket broadly satisfied with what he has achieved in his tenure.

“Whenever you think back, you think I’ve done this and that, you always have a feeling I could’ve done this a little better,” Misbah said. “I tried all that I could on my part, with whatever authority and responsibility I had, whatever was in my hands, I did what I could. I tried my level best with this team.

“And I think, thank God, we have achieved quite a few things in Test cricket especially. One-days also we achieved some things, stuff that other big sides couldn’t do. With the resources, the situation, the limitations of Pakistan cricket I think that I am, to a great degree, satisfied with whatever we have achieved.”

Real respect to this guy. He held the Pakistan team together. It's a shame he struggled to find a place in the squad early in his career. He's a role model for Pakistan.

Genuine respect for this man. He is a professional and so humble.

Same goes for Younis, always has a smile on his face...unlike so many greats before him.

Both Misbah & Younis are true performer, they achieved a lot for Pakistan in test cricket. Both especially, never were engaged in any scandal or controversy for wich Pakistan cricket is always in spot light.

Misbah & Younis truly deserve farewell salute from cricket fans all over the world.

Excellent captain and even a better human. All the best to Mesbah.

YK, am not fond of his mouth or antics, in cricket field he is a legend. Not very many players can claim 10k Test runs.

The Star retires and new stars are born. However, there are a transition period where Pak will feel their absence. Just like SL is facing. Had Pak played a series with us now.....

We will have our stars retire soon.

Stars usually retire when cricketers from other nations are in their prime
