Default What areas do you want the Tigers to show improvement in the last game?

Here is what I will look for:

Batting-wise

1. lose no more than 1 wicket in the first 15 overs and score around 70.

2. Take the singles and rotate the strike.

3. avoid losing wickets in braces and concentrate on building partnerships.

4. Take a minimum of 5 wickets going into the last 12 overs.

5. Lastly, bat positively!

Bowling-wise:

1. Tight line and length.

2. Extras to be carefully kept under check.

3. bowl to the field set.

4. discipline the key!

Fielding-wise:

1. Alert slip-catching!

2. aggressive fielding particularly with regards to throwing down the stumps whenever possible.

3. No dropped outfield catches please!

Basically, an overall improvement in application will make me happy!

There's only one area that needs to be improved is our number of ODI wins

The batting has to be solid and extremely consistent. What we have lacked of in the opening 15overs was consistency in scoring runs and building up partnerships, however what was consistant was losing our opening wicket in either the opening over or most likely the following over, which is too typical of our batsmen.

So what is vital for this meaningless match for both teams is to avoid gifting our wickets and get more runs on the board in the opening 15 overs.

As for our bowling, something we have been tooo dependent on because of our pathetic batting has underperformed, but they are not always required to take wickets in the ODI. As lon as they have discipline and aggresion along with good length and delivery then really there is a chance that the match will be very competitive.

Last match of BD in Asia Cup 2004 with Pak

Play with a relaxed mind. If batting first, put up 250 and fight hard to defend it.
If batting second, restrict the opposition to less than 220 and bat sensibly to reach the target.

Simple to state, not so simple to implement considering that Pak may also have their own plan viz. if batting first score 300 and win by 100 runs. If batting second, restrict BD to 170-190 and chase the total in 35 overs.

In a match, the team which has the players to carry out their plan successfully and upset the plans of the opposition wins the match. It is here that mental strength and fighting spirit plays a major part in addition to the playing skills.

BD players may enter with a game plan, but it goes haywire within a few overs and BD are seen dancing to the tunes of the opposition for rest of the duration of the match.BD players are seldom seen dictating the terms in the match. Unless they can dictate terms, they cannot hope to do well.
