Default Good analysis on Ganguly

Read this:

http://www.cricbuzz.com/Cricket_Arti...ical_analysis/

Ganguly's critics are mostly irrational- and do not want a Bengali to do well.

Note: Ganguly is a supporter of BG's test status.

I read that analysis and I thought it was very well written. The goal of that article was to determine whether Ganguly is in the team as a captain only or not, and also compare his performance with other contemporary batsmen in the modern era.

The article had no relation whatsoever to Bangladesh's test status, nor does it anywhere mention Bangladesh's name. How do you conclude that his critics are irrational and don't want a Bengali to do well?

I'm amazed that there is any debate at all about Ganguly as a player. His bowling's useful as well. Anyway, it's not about scores always. In England in 2002, he made fewer runs than the others (slightly) but he changed the one game India did win at Headingley. He was offered the light but stayed out there and walloped England into submission. KAif and Yuvraj, depsite being ODI players, couldn't have done that.

I've read that he's unpopular because he acts like an aristocrat.
