I'm amazed that there is any debate at all about Ganguly as a player. His bowling's useful as well. Anyway, it's not about scores always. In England in 2002, he made fewer runs than the others (slightly) but he changed the one game India did win at Headingley. He was offered the light but stayed out there and walloped England into submission. KAif and Yuvraj, depsite being ODI players, couldn't have done that.
I've read that he's unpopular because he acts like an aristocrat.
