The article is here.

Is he showing some backbone or just going with the wind?

id say 50% for backbone and 50% for wind

if our players are made to stay at bunkers with 5 star hotel service...and 1000 army soldiers patrolling everywhere...ill let the series go on.Otherwise our players shudnt lay a toe on Pak soil.

And oh, I think the series should be shifted to UAE

The whole point of this series is to bring Int'l cricket back to Pakistan. This tour is not part of FTP.

I believe, Loitta took the best decision (regardless of how it was taken). Let's go there only if ICC is also ready to call it a safe tour.

It was part of the FTP. This was the Aug 2010 tour that was moved here.

From the beginning Loitta saying Pak tour 'Not without ICC approval', so in that sense, Loitta managed to 'politic' the ball back to ICC & PCB.

There was no backbone involved at all. Loitta probably got told by Akram Khan (via the prime minister) that no-one with a half a brain wants to go and get their brains blow out playing cricket.

How can it be international cricket if ICC officials aren't involved! Pak officials on the other hand should have realistic expectations and invite Afghanistan and maybe Zimbabwe, teams representing countries that have experienced some national crisis in the recent past and would be somewhat desperate for more exposure and recognition in the international cricket arena

Kamal is playing both sides.
He thinks he is too smart.

First go to Pakistan on a 'state' visit, get reception like he would never get from anyone.
Hold press conference, talk positive, be friendly.
Win their heart over.

Throw the ball at ICC's court to take a hand for humiliating him with the presidency role.
Force them to make a decision.
Get the pakistanis fuming and let it out against the ICC.

Act like the good guy and say, 'hey, what can I do ??'

You think the pakistani interior minister coming to Bangladesh to watch a cricket match ??
He will be here to persuade Kamal for the tour, irrespective of ICC's decision.
Kamal will be playing safe.

I think it is a personal game between him and ICC.

Kamal was probably plotting this the whole time...his very own minature "Agartala Conspiracy" (at least what the pakers will claim) and for once I can't say I blame him. Besides, our gov has even greenlit the tour yet...remember they could always say "no".

I think Kamal needs to really put his balls on the table and ask, rather demand, the PCB to host us in the UAE. Worst case, play the series in Bangladesh.

I think the govt will also put it in ICC's court.
Remember he is a govt MP and mostly likely Hasina and co will listen to his plan.

Bangladesh unlikely to tour Pakistan

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board is gearing up to hear the disappointing news of Bangladesh refusing to send their team for a planned one-day series next month after failing to get government clearance.
Despite the visit of the Chairman of the Pakistan Board (PCB) to Dhaka to watch the Asia Cup final and meet with Bangladesh Board officials, reliable sources have said that indications are that Bangladesh will not be touring Pakistan.

"The Bangladesh board has conveyed to Zaka Ashraf in Dhaka that they are not getting clearance from their government to send their team to Pakistan next month," a source said.
Pakistan invited Bangladesh to play three one-day internationals in a bid to revive international cricket in the country.
No Test-playing nation has visited Pakistan since March, 2009 when militants attacked the Sri Lankan team in Lahore, killing six Pakistani policemen and a van driver and wounding five of the visiting players.
The PCB had even invited a security delegation of the Bangladesh Board led by their Chairman Mostafa Kamal to Pakistan earlier this month to inspect security arrangements for the tour.
"The Bangladesh delegation was supposed to send their report and get a response from their government this month.
But the matter has been delayed and they have already indicated that they might not get clearance to send their team to Pakistan because of security concerns," the source said.
If Bangladesh refuse to send their team to Pakistan it will come as a setback to the PCB which was very confident that the series would be played next month in Karachi and Lahore.
"The PCB is anticipating a negative answer from the Bangladesh Board, that is why they began moves to study the feasibility of holding the Pakistan Premier League T20 event this year," one source said.
