Default The Shamsur Rahman Thread

Yes, McInns said we could have a new batsman in the future named Shamsur, who could, if all goes well, pass Ashraful. I read it from bhorerkagoj.net, a link provided by one of our fellow members. Check the link banglacricket.com

I could manage to get about him from only cricket.org

Full Name: Mohammad Shamsur Rahman
Born: 5 June 1988, Comilla
Major Teams: Bangladesh Under-19s.

Batting Style: Right Hand Bat

If anybody knows more about this player, please provide. I want to know about him.

Wow, that was awsome and unexpected chinaman bhai. Thanks a lot. Good to get a look at the guy. Anyway, I was expecting more words actually, but many many thanks. Picture is a good start.

shamsur rahman is only 16. we need to take care of players like that. we need to build our domestic structures. inshallah shamsur rahman will make it to the national team soon. i want to see a player from comilla. he will be the second player to play in the national team from comilla after enamul haq moni. i hope he makes it to the team but not now. he needs more experience. he needs to play for u-19 team and bd a-team. he should wait another year or two until then he needs to work hard.

Ya. No rush here.

I hope he gets some good coaching, weight training program, good diet and dietatian advice and some good competition before he is thrown into the lion's den.

If the coach says he will be the one then his techniques and intelligence must be top class. I hope his work ethic is as good.

Yes if he is our tendulkar he should be in the team very soon. And be the youngest to make a century. I am dreaming. Give him time.

Please don't spoil him by calling Tendulker.
Let him get matured physically, technically and mentally first.
Let him get more experience in international level and learn how to compete and win.
If he work hard with his coach, will definitely find a place for national team.
Looking forward for his debut in national team with a bang.

Tendulkar got a lot better top class training by Shamsur's age. If Tendu was a Bangladeshi he would not have been as good as the 16 year old Tendu. I think we should not bring Tendu in here because it'll just give people false hope and Shamsur will never live upto that expectation.

BUMP...
Very under-rated.... Plays the slog sweep really well....
Also played Tait well enough (some plays and misses tho)
overall I see why McInnes rated him highly.. He is definately better than Kayes in terms of shot making and Junaid in terms of technique...May be an opener someday..

His got to make it now or never. He was never a consistent player in domestice cricket (even for a full season), hence never got a called up but players with fault tech like Junaid, Kayes got in the team ahead of him

thought during siddons era he got called up to the squad for a series but siddons didn't like his technique so wouldn't play him.

Wow, looked really good. Slog sweeps were esp. very good. Could really make a good case for an ODI call if he keeps at it.

I asked you two/three years ago who is kopa shamsu? Alhamdulillah! you have answered me

If Kopa Shamsu from Comilla can keep up the form i would love to see him in our T20 squad.

we still have around 7 more matches scheduled, let's see how he does....

Surprised not many ppl talking about him. Played couple of back to back impressive knock. As i mentioned above, his sweep is very powerful and certainly can play spinners as good as anybody. Haven't faced many INT quality 130kph+ bowlers yet but i think if he can have a decent outcome from rst of the games, we may see him opening with Tamim in 2013. Won't be a bad idea ahead of the likes of Kayes, Junaid and SN( ok don't jump on me, YET)
