Sigh, only has himself to blam for missing out on his 100, he reached 90 by the 15th over. The century was there for the taking by the way he was batting. Good innings nonetheless.

He looked like a shy guy in the post match interview. Nice to see finally he is getting more and more confident with his play, and wish him to find his way to The Eleven.

Wow, this guy is in unbelivable form. No way is he missing out on SL tour now.

As I said in the match thread.

89 off 40 balls
9 off the next 10

Nerves got the better of him and didn't get as much of the strike in the last 5 overs.

What a wonderful innings by Shamsur. He really has good hand eye coordination and good technique. Much more technically sound compared to Junaid, Imrul, SN, and Nazim. He should definitely be under consideration for the SL tour.

He should be included for every format ahead of SN. Our top order still not fixed and we have seen what SN is capable of so its no harm to try a new guy. He opening and Bijoy @ 3. Jahirul back up.

It's looking gd...

I agree. SN has already many chances now in the national team and has failed to take his chances with both hands. What's worrying is how bad he batted in the recently concluded series against the WI. Great to see him score but I'd rather take Shamsur and Jahurul over him and give them a run.

copain Shamsu
wht a consistency.
before this innings I used to think, althgh he is consistent he still doesn't have the best of strike rates, I thought he is a player of similar T20 SR as Jok Kallis, but I was wrong.

shamsur is really putting his name up, if the selectors want to drop anamul to #3 then shamsur would have to be one of the choices to take the other openers spot.

not comparing his batting with Nazim. I just said, his batting stand looks bit more like Nazim. But yes, Shamsu looks faaaaaaar better than that dumbo.

^ Thanks for the video.
Watching his batting in three different innings it appears he likes kopakupi on the leg side and across. Not seeing the whole inning of his it is hard to comment but not too sure how he will handle bounce since he prefers playing across and more accustomed to do so in slow low BD pitches. He would also not be a good option to replace Mominul in ODI. May be in T20 the risk can be taken.

He is a good player.Plays most of his shots in the leg side and clears the boundry with ease.He should replace Mominul in the squad. But i doubt his abilities against quality pacers.

Next year the WC is in BD and right now Shamsur is making a very strong case to partner Tamim in the T-20 setup. It seems we have found a whole squad of players who can clear the ropes with ease.

Tamim, Shamsur, Anamul, Nasir, Mushy, Shakib, Shabbir, Milon, Mash, Gazi, Rubel would be a decent squad in home condition for the T-20 WC imo

Of all the newbies - Shamsur makes the strongest case for inclusion. He is more ready than the others. Shabbir Rumman is the other possibility. Bye bye JS. I hope Sohel does not jinx these two too.
