No team can compete without a no.3 or no.4 in any format of the game. That's what we are missing. I am so frustrated with Junaid. This guy shows all the glimpses, yet fails from time to time to covert his starts into meaningful innings, a la Aftab ! Quick 25-30 and done is not what a no.3 is supposed to do. No.4 requires an accumulator. SN is not that ( in his defense, he was playing in wrong position ). Rakibul could be the answer, but he has not done it for a while. I don't know who we can bring from outside to play at no.4. Maybe, you guys know better than me. I will play Riyad at no.4 from all these options. He does have the brain, I think. Then, no.6 and no.7. Rahim is not the answer in a ODI team, and definitely not anywhere below no.4. I want him only as a test specialist. My ODI team will look like this against Aus.
1. Tamim 2. Imrul 3. ( ) 4. Riyad ( if not him ,we must have a right handed bat. Its too easy for the opponent when you have five lefties coming one after another )5. Sakib 6. Jahurul (wk) 7. Shuvo ( guy is a brilliant fielder also) 8. Mash ( if fit ) 9. Shafi 10. Rubel 11 Raj.

Finally some sanity! But I feel Mash should have replaced Rubel. We need slow bowlers against Aussie

I find myself agreeing with this 100%.. Might just have SAL at 3 though (as our best batter) and SN at 5 for the PP.

i originally planned shakib at 3 but could not find anybody suitable to play at 5. i dont want Junaid or nafees any lower than 3. also currently no confidence in Mushfiq or Rok to play at 5.

I can see why no Juaned at 5, but why not SN?

I have never seen Dhiman - how is his batting?

Shakib should play at #5 only. But I would like to drop Kayes down at 3, he's the guy who can consolidate well in the middle overs. Junaid should open the innings or play in the lower order.

My team:
Tamim
Junaid/Nafees
Imrul
Mahmudullah
Shakib*
Alok
Mushfiq+ (I don't want him in the team, but unlikely that he will be dropped now, so)
Mashrafe
Shafiul
Razzak
Rubel

I would give Nazimuddin a shot too if Mahmudullah/Junaid fails in this series.

Dhiman has scored two fifty and a ton lately. Though, Jahirul is much better option IMO

For Tests, I would agree. We are looking at the ODI series and I hope for once our selectors stop the "one size fits all" selection policy.

In the whole contry do we have a bowler who can bowl 90mph+ constantly? (Just a general question)

I would like to have Junaid open the innings tbh. He's good at clearing the infield, so let him play freely in the batting powerplay. A player like Imrul who can play the anchor role should come at 3.

Tamim
Junaid
Imrul
Mahmudullah
Shakib*
Alok
Mushfiq+
Mashrafe
Razzak
Shafiul
Rubel
