Default Head Coach Salary - apologies accepted

In previous postings, there were some stupid comments about the MASSIVE salary of the Head Coach in Bangladesh. I was roundly ridiculed for suggesting it was nowhere near the HUGE numbers of US$400-600k a year people were wildly claiming.

Then in today's Independent this line: The annual amount 2.25 US$ means, he would draw 18,750 US$ which is at least 4000 US$ more than the previous Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons

It proves that JS was earning US$14,000 a month, and not the US$40,000 people were stupidly talking about.

Whilst this money is really good, in terms of other Head Coach national salaries it is less than most. Some specialist coaches at other countries earn at least this much.

It goes part of the way to explaining why we did not have many candidates of quality apply and why people are attracted to IPL. It seems Stuart Law is trying to supplement his income with T20 coaching. He wouldn't have to to if he felt the job paid enough.

BCB should have just continued with Siddons. Too bad BD didn't advance to second round in WC.

I suggested a figure of around $300,000 based on articles I read, not 400,000-600,000. And anyhow it's one source against another. Why should we believe this and not the The Daily Star one I posted on the other thread? The Daily Star is considered a much more reputed newspaper.

I read it was also 350-400. I mean, he even admitted he got paid alot, and had a really good life in Bangladesh.

Total cost of the coach could be more than double, of the salary amount. A Senior level Expat executive's living cost in Bangladesh is roughly equal to his salary. That's based on what many different MNC organizations reimburse in Bangladesh.

Then the travelling etc and other incidental/hidden costs could push it to 30 k. That could be a dream job for many competent coaches than JS. There are not many positions in the cricketing world, like the entire package of the "BD National Team Coach". We deserved a much better coach than JS with that financial attraction. Our management & Politics in cricket administration, might be the real barrier to attract better coaches.

This.
Ian Pont or julien fountain can tell us what salary our coach really gets. Cant rely on newspaper figures

So you have to open a thread to call us Stupid. Yes it was me who said JS getting 300k+ in a year. Only because I read it somewhere, I did not see his wage slip.

Equinox later found the daily star link of the news where I saw the figure.

"Before the official signing, we can't say that Siddons is our national coach but both parties have agreed in principle and now, it's just a formality. He will make his presentation to the board," said an excited but cautious Lipu, who was under tremendous pressure to find a new coach after Australian Dav Whatmore's contract expired in May. Untreatably, Lipu was not interested to disclose the financial packages of the former Victorian batsman. However, it was learnt that he is going to receive a much-improved salary than his predecessor Whatmore, who received a monthly package of Tk 14 lakh.

He was definitely earning more than 14 lakh Taka. And if I am not mistaken 1 US Dollar was around 68 to 69 Taka. 14 lakh = 20k+ us dollars. And the news report from suggest he was getting more than that amount.

300,000 is indeed what I read in multiple sources when and after he was appointed. No reason to believe one source and not the other.

I don't remember the source, but I think it was equinox bhai who came up with it. But as I said, the salary is around 300,000++
Compare this to 500,000 Kirsten allegedly earned, and about 570,000 of Andy flower's. however, all the figures are extracted from several news papers, so I could be wrong. But if the above case is true, we should be able to hire a top draw coach, after all money talks

Loitta shutki re aghe coach hire korte bolen 24 ghontar modhe! Tarpor salary 'r chinta koiren. I don't care how much the HC gets paid. Let us confirm a coach first. Sharaa duniya shesh hoye jabe mone hoy coacher jonno wait korte korte. Why don't we name Ross Turner as the BD coach and hire a new academy coach instead? Just an idea that came to my mind.

Don't be over confident. Zimbabwe might play out of their skins... Then what will happen?
