Default Does Tamim "the beast" Iqbal have ego problem?

If yes what should be done about it? Does it affect his batting performance?
If no what should be done about it? Does it affect his batting performance?

If you post "kdpp", that itself is a kdpp.

And requesting mods to disable rating.

I remember when I jokingly said to him 'Dont be afraid of the new ball in England'

(Rolls his eyes, shakes his head)

'Brother Im not afraid of anything'

To his credit he went on to score back to back hundreds at both Lords and Old Trafford.

Tamim "The Beast" Iqbal? Really?

Try "The cyclone of chittagong" or "el ciclon de Chittagong".

And no, he has no such problem. He would make an effort to reduce his belly if he had any semblance of an ego problem.

I don't know if it's his ego or what but he defiantly has a problem, be it his "ego" or "don't care" attitude problem. Knowing that the team depends on him so much but he carelessly gives his wkt away.

Ego and bhuri does not go well together in a professional player. I would question his desire.

I know Tamim doesn't care about himself. But we the fans do. We do it because we love our kid and his potential for contribution to our cricket is very high.

Siddons could handle him very well. He made Tamim working hard in the nets. Tamim got the result. Same did Law and got the result. We need someone like them to handle Tamim well and bring the best out of him.

Depends how you define ego in this context. Does Gayle have ego, for instance?
I think it's okay however he is at the mo - he has to curb it somewhat in tests though.

He's hot headed and extremely confident of his ability and those, not his ego, often lead to underachievement and almost cavalier disregard for harder work on his own. Let us not forget that he was once motivated to do just that with coach Salahuddin after a string of failures, and became a significantly better batsman. Then he met coaches who pretty much gave him and Shakib an easy ride, and became intimately involved with Mssrs. Benson and Hedges.

I do not condone his immaturity, he is a experienced international cricketer representing his country, but understand it. I look at his age and the fact that he's surrounded by Nazimuddins, Imruls, Rockies, Nayeems and Omis of the world, guys not fit to play international cricket for any test playing country save us and Zimbabwe .

That being said, I don't think as he's egotistical as his brash persona and thoughtless comments lead many people to believe. He is generous to a fault and takes criticism well from true professionals he respects. Sadly, we don't have many true professionals who can fairly earn his respect in our cricket set up.

Cheer up man. Tamim is my most favorite batsman in the team. Spoiled kid doesn't mean he is a bad person. Try to understand the inner meaning of the post.

These kinda characters are a bit hard to handle. They are extremely talented or you can say genius. They are very much adventurous. If you cannot earn their respect they won't listen to you.

please tell me what kdpp means - I am illiterate.

Having a bit of ego is good. But when that ego gets in the way of the team's good - then it is bad. It is always good to ask oneself - why I am doing this? If the answer is anything other than the good of the team, or the game - then it is wrong. Maturity needed.

Tamim has an ego problem - but openers usually do. 51% of the time it is not good for him. He should try to find himself.

As Sohel Bhai said, Tamim has Benson and Hedges problem. That problem is becoming a team problem lately.

I voted "no" in the poll.

Tamim is going to work with Siddons very so0n as he is expected to play in Kiwi's FC Cricket in Siddons team:-)
hope Tamim will ask Siddons to fix up Tamim's recent poor foot movement issue.

That poll is messed up. You have to choose between two extremes. :P
Anyhow, Tamim has ego problem but as was said before smoking is much bigger problem.

I don't really understand all the hate on Tamim right now. Yes, he did not put away the full tosses as he should have, but that's not because he wasn't trying. Honestly, him and Riyad just didn't have the timing today. And his comment saying that if he and Riyad couldn't chase it, no one could...I don't really think it was such a big deal. They were both set batsmen and great strikers of the ball and it would have been difficult for the other batsmen of the team to just come into the middle and start hitting sixes from the word go. Riyad is the most inform batsmen at the moment, and Tamim is the best striker of the ball in Bangladesh. Based on that, I agree with his statement.

He's still a young guy and I hope he continues to improve his batting. He's got a chance to be one of the best, but I just hope he doesn't get complacent. He definitely needs to improve his fitness, and needs to improve his running between the wickets. A lot of those singles we took today could have been 2's, and when you lose by 18 runs, that makes the difference.
