Mashrafe lost us that one match against Zim giving away 17 runs in the final over. He was considered the most heinous bowler we have ever had. Shahadat pulled off a similar act in the Asia Cup Final and HE was thereafter considered to be THE most heinous bowler we EVER had! And now it's Rubel's turn.

Sammy on his day can take apart anyone! Had Mushy put Mash to bowl, maybe he would have given 6 less runs but the result would not have been any different. Same goes with Naeem and Gazi.

Sammy just scored a hundred and was on a high to finish things off (much like Anamul in the first ODI, remember)?

Having said that, we still do lack a quality paceman to partner up with Mash.

RIP Rubel. Get out of the ODI team forever and eventually from the test side too. Has been horrible for a year or so.

Cut him some slack please. As much damage he had done in the recent past. He is still better than Abul,Shafiul,SRK. The only difference that I see between him & Abul,Shafi & SRK is that he has the aggression & you can definitely tell that he bowls with a lot of heart. Shows that hunger for wickets. while I don't see bits of that in Abul, SRK or Shafi. He's just going through a rough patch & Hopefully will bounce back.

What brain?

On a more serious note, we won't have quick and accurate seamers as long as they continue to avoid working hard on their own and our domestic tracks remain dead.

Demonizing a string of particularly horrible performances because others have performed less horribly won't solve anything. I'm afraid jaha bahanno, tahai tippanno thakibe until those fundamentals issues are addressed.

Indeed. We used to call him RBX!

One thing what bothers me that Rubel, Abul, Shahadat doesn't seem work hard to get things right! No sign of hard work or hunger to learn!!

Bunch of lazy kids.

He will bounce back bro. Just be patient. At the moment This SL tour is turning out to be a nightmare one for us. It's just one of those tours where Everything you do right turns out horribly wrong.

0.1
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, short of a length outside off

0.2
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, 1 run, slightly short on middle and leg

0.3
Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, FOUR, Dilshan doesn't take too long to get going, short of a length and he gets on the back foot to punch it through the covers for four

0.6
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, 1 run, shortish on leg stump

2.1
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, FOUR, short on middle and Kushal picks up a boundary, pulling it through square leg for a boundary
2.2
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, slightly short on the off, rocks on the back foot and drops it down in front of point
2.3
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, 2 runs, slightly short on the off, punched through midwicket into the deep for a couple more runs

2.5
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, slightly short on the off, rocks on the back foot and guides it towards point from the crease

4.1
Rubel Hossain to Dilshan, 1 run, Is that dropped? Shortish outside off, went for the pull, appeared to get an under-edge and Mushfiqur, diving to his left, could not hold on, had to dive low but was unable to grasp it
4.2
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, 4 leg byes, shortish on leg stump, easy pickings, tries to flick it fine, clips the thighs on the way to the fine-leg boundary
4.3
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, shortish on leg stump, tries to flick it fine, strikes him high on the pads
4.4
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, short of a good length on middle
4.5
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, no run, short of a good length, pushed into the off side off the back foot, calls for a run, is sent back
4.6
Rubel Hossain to MDKJ Perera, FOUR, back of a length and that's been punished, moved back and thrashed it through midwicket for a boundary

Thats 14 balls out of 18....because trying to bowl full and making the batsmen drive is a sin.

This guy has one good series for the national team so far. In all other matches, he has been crap. If someone can't learn in 4 years then he won't be able to learn ever!

Sadly Rubel has gotten worse and pretty much falls in the Shahadat, Abul category now. No discipline, no accuracy just runs and tries to bowl fast without thinking.

Again BCB's selection criteria seems to be pace, ability to generate bounce. They prioritize this over sound basics, and intelligence. No point comparing to Malinga, but even when he started Malinga was very shrewd and cunning. He could read the batsman and knew what to bowl, where to bowl. Rubel and co are pretty much clueless. And in the 3 overs we saw, seems like he hasnt learned anything from the 1st match.

This guy has learned balls from the last match. Put Mosharraf in instead.
