England's Tour of Bangladesh : Squad, News ETC

Hopeful about Rokibul and SN doing well if given a chance. Not very hopeful about Suhrawardi Shuvo though. Guy is mediocre.

yeah I will be pleasantly surprised if it goes on. All victims were foreign national. Bangladesh I don't think ever had any foreign targets up until recently. When the italian national got killed first i think stats came out something like in multiple decades that was the first incidence of a foreigner being murdered...
Yesterdays incidence changes everything.

The ECB has said it will follow government advice on their scheduled tour to Bangladesh, following Friday night's terrorist attack in Dhaka which left 20 people dead.
The board said it will "work closely" with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and their own security experts over the coming months in deciding whether the tour, which is due to start on September 30, will go ahead. Last year, Australia had postponed their tour of Bangladesh based on government security advice. And earlier this year, Australia had pulled out of the Under-19 World Cup that was hosted by Bangladesh.
Gunmen stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery cafe in the Gulshan district of Dhaka late on Friday before security forces brought it to an end 12 hours later.
An ECB spokesman said: "The safety and security of our players and management is always of paramount importance to ECB and this applies to all teams representing England on overseas tours.
"We will continue to monitor and assess the situation in Bangladesh over the coming weeks and months and will undertake a thoroughgoing and robust pre-tour inspection of planned security arrangements for the England team.
"We will also continue to work closely with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office [FCO] and should our Director of Security, Reg Dickason, or the FCO, advise that the environment is not acceptably safe or the right measures not in place, we would take the appropriate steps."

30 september is still far.
If nothing more happens this tour will take place.
Lets not forget this happened in a restaurant.
They just need to avoid going to Sakib's or anywhere else, just hotel to stadium

ok then why would foreigners come to this country? Do you hear yourself?
Travel advisory to Bangaldesh will not be lifted by september or in near future. If any of you still think Eng tour will go on, you are in denial.
I will be extremely surprised if this tour goes on honestly.

I dont want this tour to go ahead. Infact I dont want any foreigner to visit this country till the islamic extremism is eradicated from the root. We should do what turkish army did last century. Shoot all the damned Islamic extremists and their sympathisers.

emotional talk no... NOt really realistic. We should hope that this goes through for the sake of Bangladesh
There is no doubt Bangladesh is more than capable of providing adequate security to multiple teams and in major tournaments. Problem is good luck convincing others, specially a team that will be there for more than a month.

Send an A team+ international hopefuls on overseas tours that will fill the newspapers.Even if you play state teams or A teams, its somethin'.
Don't see cricket in Bangladesh for a while.
Maybe play games in UAE or India till things calm down.
Even India after a terrorist attack the Champions League was cancelled.

No need for a series right now. The government needs to put all its security resources in weeding out terrorists. Heavily guarding the english team right now is just a waste of time for those police officers that could be guarding our own people. We need to deploy army in key areas to strengthen the police. Police seem very under equipped against weapons the terrorists had in the attack in Gulshan.

This can be serious for an uprising cricketing nation like Ban if they get deserted like Pak. I hope the BCB is conducting immediate meetings on the way forward. It can have an adverse effect on Ban cricket. Eng tour is looming & so as BPL in Nov. For quick solution, if it's not possible in Ban then Ban should play Eng in neutral venues like neighbors Ind or SL, UAE or off shore Florida (USA), Toronto/King City (CAN), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore or Tangier (Morocco). If the tests aren't financially viable then just play ODIs & T20Is.

We don't really have any alternate venues to host matches. Forget Kolkata, they don't seem to be interested in our team, and Lanka would be a financial disaster when their own crowds hardly go to watch them
