Default Focus Twenty20 WC

Do you really believe that Bangladesh is capable to win the Twenty20 world cup, and will reach the semis at least?

The SL series is almost over, and I think that we should start focusing on the twenty20 world cup. From the batting performance, I now feel that we will also have hard time during the twenty20 world cup. No doubt that we have loads of talents and potentials, but when inconsistency and lack of temperament overcome them, a situation like 46/6 or 58/7 after 8-9 overs may catch us pretty easily.

Twenty20 cricket is not that easy as it seems. In that match you need to do two tasks simultaneously:

(1) Keeping wickets in hand
(2) Hard hitting

I think only SA, SL, ENG, and Aussie batsmen will have no problem doing that. Shall we be able to do that with our 'Hit or Miss' type Tamim, 'Eid' type Ash, 'Jodi Laigga Jai' type Junaid, and 'incosistent Boom Boom' type Aftab?

"Songshoyer kata dule dule bam dike theme jete chai" but, at the end, I still voted YES, hoping 'Jodi laigga Jai'.

Yup! We are the only undefeated team in twenty/20 matches to date.

We won our only international match. (Do not ask who was the opponent - ranking system don't count that)

Is that all? I dont exactly imagine we can beat SA again though it could happen. If we are 2nd in the world why cant we go far? We are much much suited to 20/20, after all it is opposite to tests!lol and thats where we suck!

Bangladesh is "capable" of so much. How much of that potential will turn into results, is the question. So, YES we're capable (of beating teams in the T20 WC). But reaching the semis is improbable. Keep in mind our group stage fixtures against South Africa and West Indies.

You stole it out of my mouth!! Bangladesh can do a lot of stuff but do they really do it?? depends. Like the Sl series they could have won if the batting didn't collapse but did they do it ?? no but just like that they did the impossible as well!!

btw I am calling the cops for it

I appreciate BDS's attempt to ease the pain at this juncture. However, it is too early to tell.

That said, with Tamim playing his "natural" game, and guys like Junayed Siddique and Nazmus Sadad doing their part, Ash, Aftab, Mash and Alok can actually deliver more than promised by wishful thinking. Razz, Tapash and Farhad, as long as he doesn't bowl, can add some valuable 6s down the order. Mushy is capable of changing his game for this this particular perversion of cricket. If not, there's always Dhiman as an able sub. I don't see Shakzie playing well here, unless soccer mia gets married by the time the tounament rolls around.

Bangladesh could (and perhaps should) beat West Indies in Twenty20's. Not sure about South Africa as they have a very strong domestic Twenty20 (or Pro20 as they call it) structure.

So it might be hard to make it to the semi's, but Bangladesh should at least get a win.

Battye, WI is not that bad as we think; recently they beat ENG in a twenty20.

Definitely our bowlers are doing a great job, just if our batsmen become consistent, we will win matches, be it twenty20 or ODI.

Well, if this is the 20-20 world cup, anything is possible.
we might not go all the way, but do have a great chance of doing well.

after all, why loose the hope before the game?
