I have to sya it's Canada. Here are the reasons.

1. Carrying it to Canada will be a pain in the ~~~ for you.
2. Buying it in Canada gives you the opportunity to actually browse through name brands, and trust me, it makes a lot of difference.
3. Here, you will get the opportunity to get right into the core of music world when you go to a music store here.
4. If money's not a problem for you, then you should rather spend a bit more and get a good quality one. For you, I don't think it will cost more than $150, coz you'll need a small one. I had my cousin buy an Ibanez for less than $400...not bad eh?

My two cents.

well actual brand will cost. but if you can effort it then buy it from Canada but if you r planning to buy a cheap one then BD ones r 100 times better than the cheap ones here. believe me i have bought couple from here (cheap) and i still miss my old Gibson from elephant road...

Hehe, the good ol' Givson probably bought from Shurosree or Melody :-)

Yes Dhrubo, if you want to buy an acoustic guitar, then buy one for around Tk.2000 from Dhaka, a Givson, and take it with you to Canada. They'll let you take it as an additional hand luggage and you can ask the stewardesses to stow it in their coat lockers during the flight. Its not worth it spending $200 odd on a cheap acoustic in Canada (be it at Steve's or Long & McQuade) Unless you're splurging $500+ on a Yamaha or Ovation.

But if its an electric, then buy it from Canada.

Wrong Ammark - not often I get to say that. Buy a used guitar Dhrubo - you'll get a fabulous deal and frankly, some of the better maintained ones you won't know the difference. (This only covers accoustics btw). Only one thing - take someone who's accomplished guitar player with you. I for example can't test out all the harmonics on an axe so I took my brother with me (he's a professional musician). To sum up, buy it in Canada

Long and McQuade sometimes have sales where you can get crazy guitars for cheap.
My friend got a gibson and a fender , both in 700s for 400 each during a sale.

Since you're young and just learning get a used good acoustic from any store that sells used guitars. Or get a new Peavey acoustic guitar from musician's choice. Peavey ones are usually 200 bucks.

Dont spend much money on it. You are young and you never know when you might lose interest in it.

Based on the music genre one can choose between base or lead for jazz, classical, rock, metal etc. Ibanez has the best deals for young guitarists. For lustre, sound and long-time use and play in concert choosing a fender (Les Paul if possible) would be perfect. Well all depends on budget and target.

Jasmine has good Acoustics also Ovation, as package some as hybrid so can be played with an amp.

Okay I'll explain it this way: as dhrubo is just starting out learning, its really pointless to spend $100+ on a cheap acoustic guitar in Canada right now. He might as well buy one from Dhaka worth $35 and take it with him and get started. Once he becomes a bit more proficient and understands the tone and harmonics of guitars, he can always splurge on something thats $200+

Personally I've found the best guitar deals at music123.com but getting them to Canada is a bit of a trouble. Prices in Canada imo are always at least a good $100-$200 more than at music123.com

as far as I know, it had derived from a steak made by the Germans and was a specialty in the city of Hamburg. It was made from shredded low-grade beef with regional spices, and both cooked and raw. It became a standard meal among the poorer classes. and It was referred to as "Hamburg steak". gradually the name changed to hamburger with the patty that we eat today. Thats what I have been told long time ago.

DIng ding Ding...

You got 10 points for the correct answer.

Actually the place that came up with the recipe was called Hamburg. from where the name came Hamburger..

if some one uses ham or turkey or anything in a hamburger it becomes something else. A Hamburger is always made out of shredded Beef (kima of gorur mangsho...)

I guess I may jump in here. There's a few things you're taking for granted. First, no...the guitar quality is not the same, and learning with a better quality guitar is going to be better for a learner. Speaking from experience.

Why spend twice when you can get it for the price of one?

As far as prices go, I haven't checked in a while, but I'm pretty sure the prices dropped after the recent US/CDN exchange rate disaster.

Hahahah. Probably they wrongly set an infinite loop, so after every stipulated time frame the thread will switch sub-forum back and forth. (j)

Wife of the president is called "first lady"...

If Hilary wins the election finally, what will Clinton be called? My suggestion: "first leda".
