And what exactly is the "difference" Ajfar?

We all know what mantra blah would've said: "Don't be so open minded that your brains fall off" but that doesn't help strengthen the argument in anyone's favor as it's red herring with play on words.

Did Watergate NOT happen? Did Bush NOT lie about WMD? Did Clinton NOT send air raids during his impeachment to divert attention? We...by that I mean a bleeding American that I am... are by no means angels of the world. We have got our hands dirty in many ways...

What the skeptics are saying... and there happens to be more of the open minded neutral share from European countries... instead of bandwagon pandering Americans who would just go on with flow... is that some pieces don't fit. Sure it's not as black and white as Obama trying to get brownie points, but why, tell me why, it's so stigmatized to have a neutral p.o.v other than buying what MAJORITY would buy fed by the bs from media?

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi expatriates in New York have planned a human-chain demonstration at Jackson Heights on Sunday evening (Monday 4am Bangladesh time) from which they will demand release of Nafis if he is the victim of any conspiracy or exemplary punishment if he is found guilty.
That's a bit awkward - the local media will highlight the first bit

To me those who blindly accept most things they hear from the media are equally guilty as blind conspiracy theorists. Key is to be a little skeptical, hear both sides of the story first, research and analyze before forming an opinion-- that's what separates the open minded from the lazy minds (or in some cases prejudiced).

Baiting, Entrapment (aka Prevention) are common methods used by the FBI/CIA where internal operatives, ex convicts and thugs are hired to find people like Nafis, befriend them, encourage and provoke them and eventually equip them to carry out fake operations like this, and unfortunately these have been on the rise in the past few years.

The incentive? the informant gets up to 100s of thousands of dollars reward money and in many cases their past criminal records get wiped clean.

There's no reason to condone Nafis' act and he should be punished to the extent he's guilty , but from what I've read so far, the story just seems too eerily similar to the FBI "Prevention" playbook.

This well written article depicts different scenarios of how these operations are carried out - I'm sharing this not only to prove a point, but also with hopes that many of you'll educate others about these programs, especially family members and friends who may be coming to the US or are already here so that disastrous events like this can be avoided in the future.

Yes, that has been the case for few years. This is why his parents as well as in Bangladesh context some people say he is 'innocent' or 'victimized', wich is usually quite different in meaning in the west I say. However this FBI/CIA way of arresting suspect and the punishment [term] if convicted fairly call for criticism. I hope his case works/create as a turning point on this regard.

Another BD young guy who could not control himself from taking the offerings from NYPD. Man, this story reminds me of Martin Scorcese's Oscar winning movie 'The Departed' ! Nothing less than a hollywood flick !!!

Informant: NYPD Paid Me to 'Bait' Muslims
HE TELLS AP OF HIS UNDERCOVER TACTICS

Quote:
Shamiur Rahman was behind bars in Queens on drug charges when he says he was approached by a plainclothes NYPD officer who offered him a chance to "turn his life around." The 19-year-old said the next month he began to infiltrate a wide variety of Muslim gatherings, including mosques and student groups, where he would snap photos and record conversations with people who had never committed a crime. Rahman, a US citizen of Bengali descent, came forward to the AP after he said he decided his actions were "detrimental to the Constitution."

Rahman says though he received minimal training from the NYPD and spied on "everything and anyone," his handlers were happy with his work. He says he was encouraged to "bait" Muslims using a strategy known as "create and capture," in which he would start a conversation about terrorism, record the responses, and send it to the NYPD (a tactic the department has denied using). He admitted that he would often take things out of context to make his handlers happy. Rahman announced his double life to friends via Facebook and now plans to move to the Caribbean.

America’s FBI Goes Rogue – An Analysis (1 September 2011)

Part I – Entrapment as Government Policy

Here is an important question: What single organization is responsible for more terror plots in the USA than any other? Possible answers: Al Qaida. That would no doubt be the popular answer but it would be wrong. The KKK. Way past their prime, so that is not it. The Jewish Defense League. Good guess, but still not it. So what is the correct answer? It is the Federal Bureau of Investigation, AKA the FBI. Don’t believe me? Well, just read Trevor Aaronson’s expose entitled “The Informants” published in the September/October 2011 issue of Mother Jones.

I was in NYC for much of this past summer. You soak in a lot more when you actually live there than when you're just visiting for a few days.

My (rough) estimate would be that there are at least 100,000 Bangladeshis just in the five boroughs alone. Wikipedia gives data that is I think at least 2 years old and estimates 70k and that is most probably an under-estimation.

Bangladeshis are everywhere in NYC.

In Midtown, I sometimes got my lunch from a Subway on 7th ave between 56th and 55th. One day I walked in wearing my old 2005 BD cricket kit. Thats throwing up a flag. Two or three brown guys and an Arab with long hair were behind the counter. One of the brown uncles asks me "Kee Khaben?" We converse, I tell them I'm from Sylhet.

Immediately the long-haired Arab perks up and then says to me "Sylheter koon district?" OK, so they're all bengali here, including the "Arab".

The Kaplan center where I was taking my review course had 2 Bangladeshis working there, one of whom resides in Woodhaven and actually recognized my name from this forum, LOL.

The there was the Duncan Donuts I used to go to on Amsterdam and 94th...all the workers were Bangladeshi. And there would often be 3-4 Bangladeshi members of the NYPD sitting there adda-ing about "playing cricket on the streets" back in the home country.

So one day I asked one of these officers how many Bangladeshis are on the force. The last batch out of the Academy he said had 9 bangladeshis, two of them were women! I told him the wiki census of 70,000 bangladeshis in the city and he said that was certainly an under-estimate. I asked if he thought there are closer to "ek lakh" bangladeshis in the city and he nodded and said "hobe" while giving the impression that that was the lower end of the estimate.

But after checking out Jackson Heights, Woodside, and Elmhurst (whose hospital on Broadway has signs written in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Bangla) and then seeing an even larger distribution of Bangla businesses on Hillside Ave in Jamaica, without venturing into the enclaves of Ditmas Park and Kensington in Brooklyn, I think I believe there are at least 100k Bangladeshis in the city proper.

I have at least two uncles who live in Nassau country (New Hyde Park), but I'm not sure what the Bangladeshi population of Long Island is like. NHP certainly doesn't have too many.

If you go to Dunkin Donut in the 5 boroughs you will find at least 1 maybe more Bangladeshi working there. So far every Dunkin Donut I been to in NYC I saw Bangalis working there. This is mostly due to the fact that most of these places are owned by Bangali owners, so they tend to hire deshi employees. I have a friend that lives in NYC. He worked at 3 different dunkin and all of them were owned by Bangali owner and most of the employees were Bangali.

Default বোমা হামলার পরিকল্পনার দায়ে নাফিসের ৩০ বছরের কারাদণ্ড

Quote:

There's something very disturbing about the NYPD...They're probably the most corrupt cops in the country and they always seem to go to extremes unlike other police departments or even the FBI. Check out this article
