Well I did say we would lose this test match and that is the way it is going.
The main difference between the two sides is Warne, only Pietersen can pick him, all the other England batsmen are clueless against him.
And also despite Englands very good pace attack, they are just hopeless at bowling out the tail for some reason and that will cost matches, it needs sorting out.
Well, it is forecast to tip it down to tomorrow so maybe England can prolong the inevitable defeat for just a bit longer.
I am in awe of Warnes bowling though. Its amazing. I am also amazed at how KP is batting, looks a great player.

well Rob you have to consider that KP probably have seen all of Warne's arsenal during his practice sessions in Hampshire.
But no doubt KP is playing exquisitely but surviving 2 days is a big task, only rain/flood can save them.
Catches win matches and it proved once again.
If they had gotten Aussies out early today- by lunchtime things would've been in England's hands.
I have a feeling KP will score his debut century tomorrow or day after depending on how the weather behaves.

He won't score a century because we will be all out in an hour I say. I have no optimism left.
Although, it is supposed to rain tomorrow.

I can't believe the English keep playing Warne from back of the crease. Why so timid? Where's the bulldog English spirit? Of the outs, only Flintoff's was in anger. And if you are going to be blocking everything then offer a freakin shot! Sigh, apparently England (team) can bully the likes of BD but when the word champs come calling, they wet their pants just like the rest of us.

Maybe England should drop Giles and pick Paul Collingwood in the next match. Collingwood's bowling won't be less effective than bowling of Giles and he can definately bat better than Giles.

I can't do highlights, please stop asking me.
Yet again, you will have to settle for my 'how they were out' list.
I'll post it later.

The way England went from 80/1 to 119/5 makes me think of a sort of a psychological collapse, but on the other hand they are all experienced players, apart from Bell (wouldn't have been better to leave a place to Thorpe, letting him have a last great chance before leaving the pitch?) .
It is interesting to see that the sum of runs scored by Vaughan+Bell+Flintoff in both innings is an extremely low 24!
What's wrong with them?
The only one who has managed to face Mc Grath, Lee and Warne is the debut-player Pietersen who scored 57+42*, how does that come?

Vaughan is an overated player, his struggles do not surprise me. He should open, he has over 2500 runs opening at an average of 50+ for god sake.
Flintoffs lost the plot with the bat, last year he was a mature batsman but is now almost back as he was playing stupid shots all the time.
Bell is having a baptism of fire. I think he will get better with time and end up having a successful international career, but I would personally much rather have Thorpe playing instead of him at the moment.
Thanks for the highlights!

According to what you say this would be a better batting order for England:
1. Vaughan
2. Trescothick
3. Strauss
4. Pietersen
5. Bell
6. Flintoff
...
I put Pietersen at four so that he could help England getting a good total instead of trying an almost impossible rescue as it has been in this first test.

To be honest, I would quite like Collingwood to be brought into the side instead of Giles. Collingwood is a talented batsman, is cool under pressure, bowls more than useful medium pace and is one of the worlds best fielders.
If Giles is going to be treated by the Australian batsmen like he has been in this test match for the rest of the series (and it wouldn't surprise me) then he isn't worth bothering with.
I think this looks a much stronger side:
1) Trescothick
2) Strauss
3) Vaughan
4) Bell
5) Pietersen
6) Collingwood
7) Flintoff
8) G Jones
9) Hoggard
10) S Jones
11) Harmison

Finished watching the highlights just now.
Before watching the highlights I used to think that only Bangladeshi batsmen are capable of getting themselves out in the way Strauss, Vaughn and Bell got themselves out.

Strauss was beaten for pace and it in the end it was a tame dismissal.
When Vaughan brought his bat down to defend, the makers label was in the direction of the mid wicket region so as soon as Lee's ball straightened Vaughan was always going to be in trouble - he didn't play straight. This is a weakness of Vaughans game, he keeps getting knocked over to similar balls. He needs to sort it out.
Bell basically was undone by Warne mastery. After leaving a few balls from Warne that were leg breaks and spinned sharpley away, Warne bowled a slider (goes straight on), Bell thought it was another leg break, tried to leave again and was undone.

i was watching ashes on tv...i was amazed by warny's bowling...he's just brilliunt... but i must say he should have got more wickets but unfortunatly umpire didnt give it. Some Clear LB's were given not out ...sad thing..
Ausis are clearly winning the game. This will bring Eng down to reality as they probably thought they were too great by beating minor countries like Bangladesh.

Great it's raining though today, and will probably rain all tomorrow as well.
I want England to have to fight for at least 2 sessions though.
