Default Clarke Facing Possible Ban

England's Rikki Clarke is facing a possible ban after being charged with verbally abusing a Bangladesh batsman during the first Test in Dhaka.
The Surrey all-rounder has been ordered to appear before International Cricket Council match referee Wasim Raja.

Clarke is alleged to have sworn at Mushfiqur Rahman during the fourth day's play.

Possible penalties range from a fine to a ban of either one Test match or two one-day internationals.

If found guilty, it would be a disappointing end to a match which saw Clarke awarded his first Test cap in the absence of injured Andrew Flintoff.

The incident was reported to Raja by third umpire Akter Uddin.

Default Clarke fined 50 per cent of match fee

DHAKA (AFP) - England all-rounder Rikki Clarke was fined 50 per cent of his match fee for verbal abuse during their first-ever cricket Test against Bangladesh here.

Match referee Wasim Raja of Pakistan announced the fine after a meeting with the Surrey player on the fifth and final day of the match on Saturday, which England won by seven wickets.

The 22-year-old, making his Test debut for England, was found guilty of abusing Bangladesh all-rounder Mushfiqur Rahman on the fourth day after Rahman hit him for two boundaries in an over during his unbeaten knock of 46.
