Bangladesh coach Jamie Siddons was happy with blazing batsman Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful but said his bowlers need to improve.

"It seems like every time we bowl these days we go for 300," Siddons said. "Our bowlers need to vary it up a bit and hit the right areas more often."

Siddons said tough competition was what the Tigers needed to prepare to tackle Australia at the end of the month - and they were getting it.

"They were very keen to beat us and we are very keen to beat them back," he said. "There is enormous potential in the AIS side and they are going to be competitive for sure. It's good hard cricket and that's what we need to build and improve."

I have to admit those AIS players may be lot less experienced than our players are, but they still sound lot more smarter than ours do.

Their SLA Jon Holland has not yet played any FC or list-A match, but he has single handedly destroyed our middle order taking four wickets (Ashraful, Riad, Sakib, and Dhiman) in space of 15 runs (238-253) and has thrown us off the game. May be Abdur Razzak should go to him asking for some tips.

Shahadat will do some woo ahhaa type of short pitch bouncer...if that is considered as improvement, he has long way to go to become our lead bowler. He needs to stop exercising "uchanggo shongit" and stop fixing his nayok marka hair style. Can you please put the ball in the right spot!!!

mash has lost a lot of his pace, that made him decent bowler, because he got the ball to move off the pitch at those speeds, because of his action.

fully agree...however JS won't tell the BCB...this is where BCB has to be proactive...if we can't hold AUS to under 275 in a full 50 over innings, BCB needs to make JS the de facto batting coach and get someone else to coach bowlers.

a rasel and a sakib also make a lot of that difference. IMO, we are giving up 50 runs more per innings than we should. a rasel and sakib will wipe out 20-30 of that deficit.

70 member BCB team still does not understand the requirement for a good bowling coach and proper nutrition to build muscles/bones of our bowlers. As Furqaan mentioned proactiveness, they will now search for that word in the dictionary and their text books of how to implement it. Good thing you pointed out that weakness..who will point out their super slow reactiveness too...do they have to look in the dictionary how to implement that too...Time for 'powerful' BC members write letters about bowling coach and camps.

my "wierd" XI- but i feel it is imperative to rest Tamim since he has a leg injury before it gets any worse, i don't think any fan here would want to lose our only "real" opener before the real show begins...

If Tamim is not playing, it won't be smart to tie Mehrab with another iffy opening option (I mean Mehrab himself is iffy enough). For this match, we may have to send Ashraful to open and bring Rokib and Sakib forward by one position each.
